Yes, get the X-Fi X-Gamer. It was a redesign of the The Xtreme Music so that Front I/O (Mic and Headphone) is easy to Hook Up.

Actually, try to avoid the low profile versions of the x-fi. And NEVER get the xtreme audio, since it doesnt even have the x-fi APU.
The low profile versions of the card, are cost cutting cards, and have lower SQ than the xtreme music.
If you can find an extreme music used, pick it up.

The LP Xtreme Gamer is vastly different from the Xtreme Audio. I've not done an A B with the Xtreme Gamer vs My Xtreme Music. I'm just posting what others have told me who claim to have. When I did listen to the Xtreme Gamer, it wasn't on anything I've ever listened an Xtreme Music on. Namely Logitech 680's and a Philips HTiB system. Also a few computer store demos.
When I asked the one Creative Guy about the X-Audio, he said "Just think Celeron or Duron." He then tells me that the X-Gamer savings (make slightly cheaper) are from not wiring the card for the I/O Drive and some electronics associated with it, *nothing else.
*I always take what they say with a grain of salt. Many user reviews give it a thumbs up.
