I have never realy noticed a power supply and how hot they get. I got a no-name 400 watt power supply dual fan and it get pretty hot. It heats up the whole room. how hot should a power supply get. I do have lights fans and things on it.

This is something I was talkin with Gooch about the other day. I had a RAIDMax550 and that sucker would put out enough heat to cook a steak on. What he said was pretty much what I had thought, and why I ditched it and got a different PSU.
The hotter it gets, will more then likely mean the harder its working. Which isnt all good on it really. If its too hot Id suggest pulling a few things off or upgrading the PSU to a higher wattage or better brand.

Thats what I was thinking that a 550 ps would actualy run cooler because of less demand on it. Thanks for the reply!

Not entirely true. My antec 550W with 2 fans runs hotter than seasonic 400W with same system by 3-4c! with single fan. And seasonic is quieter too! It also has to do with thermal design and efficiency of PSU. I believe I will give it a shot with new 400W PSU from seasonic which is supposed to be even more efficicent!
