Okay, I'm looking for the best overclocking GF4 Ti4600 out there. I ordered a Danger Den GF4 waterblock so something that works with that preferably. I'm also thinking of possibly getting a Ti4200 and then waiting for the NV30 to upgrade... If you think I should do that, which Ti4200 should I pick up? Thanks

ti4600 is insanely overpriced.
i'd get a ti4200 that has 3.3ns memory, an 8-layer PCB, and same layout as ti4600.
almost teh exact same thing (when both overclocked), but you'll pay $220 for it instead of $350 or more.
i'd recommend Suma Platinum, if you can't get that => Asus.
Abit are awesome, and can't be beat for the price--$145. but it doesn't have 3.3ns memory, an 8-layer PCB, and same layout as ti4600. so its not quite up there.

The 3.3ns memory only comes in 64MB cards, right? Is it worth the extra .7ns for the less RAM? Also, what company is the Suma Platinum, I've never heard of it. I keep hearing that Leadtek is getting some of the best overclocks.

no, Suma makes ti4200 with 3.3ns AND 128mb of memory!
Suma is extremely hard to get in the US.
I'd go with Asus if you cant find Suma. same goes for Asus, ti4200 with 3.3ns AND 128mb of memory.

Hmm, from newegg...
ASUS V8420 GeTI4200 128M with DVI/TV out RETAIL BOX
Specifications:
Res: Max 2048 x 1536 at 75Hz (32bpp)
256-bit GeForce4 Ti (250MHz clock)
AGP 4X with Fast Writes and Texturing support
User's manual Driver CD ROM and DVD2000 Software included
Model#: V8420/TD/128M
I can't even find on the Asus site where it lists which cards have 3.3ns memory... The Asus Ti4600 cards don't have 3.3ns memory, do they?

i am pretty sure all the ti4600 have the much more expensive 2.8ns memory.
including Asus.

I didn't realize the Ti4600s used 2.8ns memory. Which would you say is the best Ti4600? It's not too much more and I have the money. I'll probably end up using it until the NV30 comes out and then selling it to a friend anyway...

yes, ti4600 is undoubtably better,
but the money that you overpay would better be spend somewhere else.
buy a nice set of speakers or something.
hold on, let me check whay type of memory Asus ti4200 uses...

See here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=20063#post20063)
I have the money for a Ti4600 plus I can sell it for close to the same price I get it in a few months when I get a better card.

thats the problem, you won't be able to sell it close to what you paid for it.
right how--its teh kewl teh best supar vidoa card, and when something new comes out that will be better--ti4600 will be just a half-assed card that it really is.
how much ti500 cost when it was still the best card? like $300. now you'll be lucky if you get rid of it for $120

there you go svenn,
for being silly.
now ti4600's pirce will drop in half, because the radeon 9700 is here.
and whats worse, ti4600 is not the fastert card any more. not even by a wide margin.

I got a Leadtek 4600... RMAing it for the MyVIVO version which was placed on newegg the day after I ordered the regular...

If worst comes to worse I can RMA the leadtek again and pick up the Radeon... but I doubt that will be necessary... I'll just wait for the NV30.

its a long time to wait....
and Radeon 9700 is not only much more damn fast than ti4600,
its got all the eye candy that ti4600 doesnt.

I have the Leadtek GeForce4 TI4400 and it is totally awesome! I can overclock it way pasy Ti4600 standards with full stability. The heatsink really works.. its not just for show.. and i am sure the Leadtek TI4600 is the same way.

I'd go with a Ti4200 for one large reason - Directx9. None of today's cards will be able to take advantage of all of the features of Directx9, so why not buy a good card at a cheap price? Save your money for when you do see the next gen of cards:-)

I'm getting the ASUS ti4200 128MB deluxe
that card fits my budget and with the money I save I'm buying some extra RAM
when you have the money to buy a ti4600 it would be better to go for the radeon 9700
