Hi guys, I'm currently struggling to decide between these 2 PSUs. The corsair is very efficient from what I hear but would it be worth to pay a little bit extra(about $50 difference) and get the more poweful OCZ? I'm not planning to upgrade PSU for at least 2-3 years and SLI and CF are not really out the question in the future. Any opinions appreciated.

Simple, if you don't need the extra power, go for the Corsair (you won't need it unless you're planning on skulltrail or more than 2 GFX cards)
Might also check this thread out (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=177583) :)

If you're not looking at multi-GPU setups (and even if you were :p:), the Corsair is a better unit. For starters, it's modular where it counts (peripherals and GPUs), so the insides of your case are going to be a hell of a lot neater. On top of that, Corsair use a very awesome ribbon cable, which is very thin and flexible (plus being a nice semi-gloss black), so makes cable management a breeze.

Corsair. The OCZ is one of their FSP Epsilon offerings, and not as good a performer.

go for OCZ

Says the man with the Corsair TX750 in his rig........

I'd pop for the Corsair without even thinking about it....I still cannot figure out OCZ's penchant for so many different lines of whatever they sell, be it power supplies or memory.

PS...GameXtream, ModXStream, ProXStream, EvoStream, StealthXStream....

And in memory, it's even crazier......take DDR2-800 memory, probably the single biggest seller, in speed ratings, of memory for most companies.

OCZ has Reaper, Reaper HPC, Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth, ReaperX HPC, FlexXLC, Titanium, Platinum, Gold and Gold GX, nVidia SLI, ATI Crossfire, Limited Edition (Spec. Ops, Spec. Ops Urban Elite), Vista Upgrade, System Elite, Value Series........I mean damn! How can anyone keep up with any of that......and most of those series replicate themselves with speed ratings.....

But, I guess they have so many price points they're trying to cover....it seems like OCZ would be better served concentrating on just a few lines instead of like 15 DDR2-800 memory varities or 5 lines of power supplies. Makes one wonder how Corsair even manages to compete with just three lines of power supplies (HX, TX, VX.....and very little overlap with power ratings between the lines....)

He's right:

FSP P/N's on the PCB. SPI P/N on the transformer. Zalman part number on the modular PCB... HEY! How did that get there????

Yes its FSP, but not the same core as GXS.

Different revision yes, but I'd know that design anywhere.

The Fortron Epsilon series has an even higher efficiency than the Seasonic S12 (that's what the HX520/620 really are), up to 88%. Don't know about that OCZ PSU though

And higher ripple to match. Also, it's group regulated vs. indy for the Corsair.

Personally, I would love to see some of these Epsilon designs get phased out in favour of that new indy regulated platform FSP came out with that BeQuiet seems to be jumping all over lately. That platform would stand a far better chance of competing with Corsair than the Epsilon does.

Even at 230v I would be very surprised to see the Epsilon peaking at 88% routinely....and given the design and atrocious derating curve above 25c the Epsilon doesn't seem to be the that good a FSP platform. Now the 3Y built units are.
