hi

i am putting my beer flash cooler up for sale to make room for a prometeia mach 2 but what will happen if in the future i upgrade to the new amd chip coming out soon i here both the chip and s:banana::banana::banana::banana:et will be bigger so if that is the case that will mean that the prometeia will not fit and need modding as working with refridgerant is beyond my skills i will lose the investment of £500

i think i might be better of forgetting the idear for now or at least untill they supply the prometeia with interchangeable cooling heads that anyone can change then and only then will it be worth the investment of my money

now i hope someone out there is going to say that you can allready change cooling heads

bigal13 - you can get CPU kits for the Prometia's, and I'm sure Chip-Con will make them available shortly after introduction of the Athlon 64 chips. I bought Intel and AMD cpu kits when I purchased my Mach II.

By the way, if you're looking for a new Mach II, they are getting in a new shipment on Friday (just cleared customs)

Xtreme Tek Werkz (http://www.xtwerkz.com/)

Just call & ask for Tats - he'll hook you up and give you great service and pricing too (I know, been there - done that). There might be other prometia resellers out there, but probably not as dedicated to customer service like tek werkz is (ok, shameless plug!)

Tweaked!

You can change cooling heads, just as long as you have a recovery machine, set of guages, a vacuum pump, etc.... ;)

Yeah, just a "wee" bit of work involved there!

I do shameless plugs all the time, but nobody seems to notice. Maybe I'm too subtle. :D

thats what i was worried about unless you know what your doing and have all the tools to do the job you are stuffed

the only other option would be for chip-con to do the work for you (i.e return it for them to carry out the work for a fixed price +postage) then your warrenty would not be affected

is there any chance of this type of service being available

Well i know it sounds easy but you cannot change out a prometia cooling head with out ruining the cooling chamber.the only way to do it is replace the entire evap/head hose assembly.
chip-con pours the sealant in the head AFTER the head is brased into the hose.so changing as head out is not a easy opition.
as i have done one it is not by no means easy.

I wouldnt worry,:D
chip-con just has to make a new adapter and you will be in business.

and i will have to agree that http://www.xtwerkz.com/ is the place to go.as they are very good to deal with.
i have dealt with the boys personally and cannot say anything but good things about them.

and since no one notices Gary's plugs (which i do) i have a plug for you too..

.if anyone wants to learn refrigeration advanced how too you need to check out Gary's TECH book....http://www.techmethod.com/

it is the best book i have on refrigeration

I really should pick up a copy of your book, Gary (plug away)!

Any chance of you offering an "xtreme" discount???? :D

hopefully someone in chip-con has allready made a adapter for the new amd chip (or if they hear of our concerns they will run one up for us):D

i see the plug for http://www.xtwerkz.com/ but i am in the uk so i fear the shipping and import tax would put the price to high to compete with the uk companys

cheers any way

Never hurts to ask for a price quote & shipping no matter where you live - had noticed after I initially posted that you were in the UK and Chip-Con is involved there as well. Good luck!

Discount? What's that? :D

I reduced the price from $119 to $89. That's about as xtreme as I can afford. I am retired. If I sell a few books I get to eat. :D
