How much will it hurt to run 1 gig vs 2? I've got the RMA thing going but was curious if anyone knows how it will affect BOINC?

I've done it several times. No worries on your score, it will be fine. The issue may be on your RMA. Were the sticks a pair? If so, you need to return both.

This was sticky for me the first time it happened. I stole a stick from another machine and had two machines on 1 gig until the RMA cleared. It worked out with no noticeable drop in production.

Now, I keep spare RAM.....:up:

1GB is fine for crunching only, but don't expect much more.

Thanks for the answers. 123Bob, yes they were matched set so I suppose I'll have to rob sticks from 2 machines until the RMA gets here. I've been meaning to buy a few spare kits for months but haven't...wish I had now. :(
