View Full Version : When Water cooling cpu on a IP35 PRO is it essential to water cool bridges ?

Hi I plan to water cool my Q6600 with a IP35 Pro motherboard. is it a must to water cool the north and south bridges as well ?

If you have no airflow, definitely. If you're still running fans, it should be enough. It's really better to ask this stuff around the WC forums.

Not dont bother, follow the guide though in the ip35 thread in the intel section regarding the heatpipe mod.

I would just satisfy myself with one 120mm blowing over the NB-SB heatsink, as I am on my P5K

I am currently running my Q6600@440x8 on the IP35 Pro... definitely need to put a fan blowing over the NB if you're folding or putting other strain on the CPU for longer periods of time. Best to also put a small fan over the PWMs as I'm hitting 89C on the PWMs. I would wc it if it weren't only my backup mobo ;)
