PCGH.de compares the screenshots of the just announced PC version of Mass Effect versus the already released Xbox 360 variant. Bioware promises a better resolution for textures, and we examine if that’s right.

Thanks for the link to the article. Ever since I found out this game is coming to the PC I've really been looking forward to its release. The images in the article look good to me!

the Xbox versions eems a lil darker in colour. the PC seems to have a lil more AA but the Xbox version does seem sharper.

In the first pic that dude on the right with the horn coming out on the side of his face. On the Xbox360 that horn is alot sharper, on the PC it looks like a big smudge.

They looked pretty much the same to me. There certainly hasn't been any texture enhancement. Its hard to judge because most of the PC shots have darker lighting than their 360 counterparts.

well I think there is a little more detail in the head on pc screen shots, but since they aren't exactly the same it's hard to say. The pc will probably look better to me if it runs well at 2560x1600.

If you open the full size images and compare the same areas it's pretty immediately obvious the pc textures are teh pwn.

I think the PC version does look slightly better although i would put that mostly down to the lighting effects being different in the screenshots.

Im currently enjoying Mass effect on 360. GOW on PC is ALOT easier with keyboard and mouse and im sure Mass effect will be too. Great game so far.

I'm extremely excited for this game; this is probably the only console game this generation so far that I've been properly jealous about it not being on PC. If it's ANYTHING close to as good as KOTOR I know I'm going to love it to death.

Any idea as to how much space this one is going to take up? ~16GB for 1 game is just a bit much unless it has hundreds of hours of gameplay in there.

Im currently enjoying Mass effect on 360. GOW on PC is ALOT easier with keyboard and mouse and im sure Mass effect will be too. Great game so far.

WASD+LMB+RMB FTW. I played GOW on 360 found it hard as i cant aim where i want. Got it on PC and mullered everything with the sniper rifle, HS so easy with a mouse. Same thing will probably apply to Mass Effect.

I am hopeing this will be one first of the EA games that have proper support.

PC version looks kind of washed out compared to the 360 version. Maybe just due to different lighting schemes? Either way, the difference is pretty negligible.

Hopefully, the hardware requirements won't be prohibitively high like with Assassin's Creed.

EA is big on releasing games on all platforms i would not be surprised to see PS3 version soon as the deal stops with Microsoft. Then again Mircosoft could have contracted the whole trilogy.

man, seems like the 360 seems to get shafted on 2 of their top exclusive games so far. GOW has a final boss, and now this with better textures. i'm glad i dumped my loot on a 8800 instead of a 360. now lets hope that the support is as good as the release

ps: adjusting the gamma should get it to look as dark as the 360. also looks like pc has more hdr (not sure if thats an improvement though).
