Vienna / Taipei, February 12th 2008 - Coolink today presented its new GFXChilla VGA cooler. Employing 4 high-performance heatpipes and two large 80mm fans, the GFXChilla provides superior cooling performance at minimum noise levels. The GFXChilla is widely compatible, simple to install and can easily be upgraded.”Many users are annoyed with their noisy VGA cards and hence look for a high-quality silent solution that is easy to install and comes at a fair price”, explains Timothy Chu, Coolink CEO. “Our new GFXChilla is perfectly suited for quietly cooling popular VGA cards like Nvidia GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon 3870 as well as older series.”

Thanks to four thick 6mm heatpipes and two quiet 80mm fans (18dB/A), the GFXChilla provides exceptional cooling performance at extremely low noise levels. Its large fans not only cool the GPU but also provide strong airflow over the card’s various components. In order to cool the RAM chips and voltage regulators, the GFXChilla comes with 18 self-adhesive heatsinks.

The GFXChilla’s flexible mounting system is easy to use even for less experienced users and allows for broad compatibility with a wide range of current and older VGA cards (see website).

In order to achieve even better cooling performance, the GFXChilla’s 80×80x10mm low-profile fans can be replaced with standard 80×80x25fans, which, due to their bigger height, can produce higher levels of airflow.

Price and availability
The GFXChilla is available with immediately at a suggested retail price of EUR 29,90 / USD 37,90.

Incompatible with G80? Thats a serious issue IMO.
And why would that beat HR-03+?

No G80 or HD2900 support?

Fail.

you'd think with that many mounting holes they could have given G80 compatibility.

Or maybe it does fit but there are no extra sinks for the chipsets/VRM

Either way, cheap, comes with fans, much lower profile that HR-03s.
I'm sure a 120mm fan can be ziptied to it

EUR 29,90 / USD 37,90. damn our dollar is getting crushed

but i like the design, at least it works for the 8800 (92) series

there is no problem on mounting the cooler to the card as you already said.
the problem with the hd2900 is that there are more chips on the card than coolers and for the G80 card it's the NV I/O bridge.

that's the reason why these cards are listed as incompatible.

That little bride does get hot, and aside from having to bend my screws in order to get the Zalman 700 to fit on my 8800, all I had to do was slap a Ramsink onto the I/O bridge. Works like a charm.

G80 and R600 are the hottest cores available...coincidence? This isn't exactly a beefy cooler (though it looks like it could handle the G80 at least).

Maybe they have something up their sleeve for the high-end?

In my opinion it's a "smarter" version of Accelero S1.
It features the S1's quad-heatpipe design combined with dual low-noise fans in a dual-slot cooler.
The aluminium foils seem to be the same number as the S1's and although they're closer together, the thicker heatpipes will probably compensate for that.

I'd say the GFXChilla's performance should be only a little bellow the S1's performance with it's aftermarket dual-fan add-on (3-slot design). And with a non-gigantic, every-case-fitting, dual slot design.

Damn, today I bought two S1's for my HD3870s and I was just trying to figure out how I was going to fit some fans in them.. Good thing they only cost 15€ each..

Heatpipes are 6mm on both....the GFXChilla's fins are just THAT thin. They're noticeably thinner than the 10mm thick fans in the pictures too.

Craftyman.

Looks nice but if what vapor said is true about the heatpipes being 6mm and the fins SUPER thin, then I don't think it has much of a chance of beating the S1. When I first saw it I was like "woah those are some big heatpipes" but it seems they aren't that big. If you look closely at the 80x15mm (correction that is 10mm) fans the fins are slightly thinner looking than the fans :(

Whoa. I tought that those heatpipes were HUUGE. ...damn 10mm fans. :(

Probably works fine for G80/R600 just doesnt have all the heatsink required to cool the vregs and such.
