A change of management can do that.
(they changed CEO's, didn't they?)
I do know that they have some new original IP in the works, from well respected developers. Developers that they are letting have their own creative freedom, for once.
Look up Dead Space for starters.

Forgive me if I remain skeptical about this. But seeing is believing a case like this.
Games to follow up on:
-BF3
-BF heroes

EA's mantra has always been:
Let them make the games to our schedule then inject a few bugs ourselves & ship the game with some form of advertising.
It'll take some good products to make people think differently about them, not some cheap words.

I have to hope for BioWare's sake that it's true. I'm hanging out for Dragon Age big time and I hope it won't be the last BioWare RPG that nods its head towards the late-90's glory years.

I think the journalist got the quote wrong, EA said "Developers are like mushrooms, feed them crap and keep them in the dark" :D

I agree. I did a home theater install for one of the producers at Bioware and he didnt have much nice to say about them.

EA has destroyed so many good things with their scorched earth business model, it's too numerous to count. They have been invested for so long in the "if you can't beat'em - buy'em" principle, do they know any other way of doing business?
Words are cheap; deeds are dear.

I remember back in the day when EA was my favourite games company along with Nintendo. The original Need for Speed games.... *Sigh* those were the days  :D I seriously hope that they can back up their words.
My favorite EA published games was medal of honor and medal of honor underground for playstation. They were leagues ahead of alot of generic playstation games. *BOOM* Electronic arts......

So basically Doom 3 in space... nothing in that video makes me think EA is going to get any better.

Sayin' its' so doesn't mean it so.
I really hope, really hope, because this would raise the standard for good games.

Doom was always in space. It makes me think more of Doom + Resident Evil.
Anyway they are letting the developer have their own freedom, with creativity and budget, which is the point here.

I'm still worried...Riccitiello is a misplaced politician, not an apologetic CEO.
