A new NVIDIA ForceWare driver appeared on the web which is being served on-line by one of NVIDIA's partners (Clevo) . This driver set is commonly distributed and it is receiving pretty good feedback.

The driver originally was intended for mobile platforms. We however included the modded.inf from the colleagues over at laptopvideo2go to make the drivers compatible with all GeForce graphics cards. Overall these drivers seem to work well/. They do not have the FAN bug reported in ForceWare 171.16

The drivers seem to be a bit faster than that driver and was tested with Crysis, The Witcher, UT3, World In Conflict.
Hardware Video Acceleration, Digital Vibrance. Everything is working. NVIDIA also redesigned the Video and Color controls in the control panel. There are now more options:

* custom timings have returned
* you can choose if you want to use NVIDIA video and color controls or player controls.
* new edge enhancement and noise reduction sliders
* dynamic contrast function
* color improvement function

Probably test this out when I get home. Running a 169.xx right now, don't remember which one. 3D06 gets me 11k, Crysis get me anywhere around 35-50fps.

Hopefully XP gets one as well.

But they bring any improvement over the 171.16?

Doesn't matter if it's a mobile driver, I've had very great experience of mobile drivers before. Performance is often very good.

No XP 32-bit, XP 64-bit, or Vista 64-bit. They are not worth it in my option and from what i've read, they are not better then 171.16s. From what I seen over at Guru3D.
