Hey, i'm new to enjoying dvd on computers, but i just found that there's this DVD region thing that drives me crazy. Cuz i have manyy dvds all over regions 1-3 and i have to switch around them all the time. And is there a way that you could switch around regions without the counter going down? I think i've heard of a way like that in school before, but i have no idea now.

Is there a ***** of some sort? Anything? sighz.. i'm gonna get so stumped if this is real. Please help. Thanks in advance

i never did understood why they DVDs have the region protection. i mean, i know it's for copy protection, but it just seems a little overkill.

if you do a search on google, i'm sure you'll find something.

i read somewhere that on certian dvd drives if you hold down the play button on the front of the drive until the led flashes, it will reset the 5 times for region change. It may not work on your drive but i have heard some sucess stories...

reflashing the firmware on your drive may reset the counter.

you can also use Zoom DVD player.
very very full featured DVD player, the amount of features on it you won't believe, like 200 featues I'd say, I am sure it has that too.

Take the name of your drive and then google it with something like region free or else
The region protection is because the movies aren't released at the same time in every country and sometimes the dvd came be released in a country before than it's released in theater in another country

Here's a nice legit piece of software, yes it costs, but it's a hell of a lot safer than flashing your DVD firmware, means you keep its warrantee too ;)
