Maybe its for measuring the vcore .. hard to tell if the wire is solderd on to the VR-pot.

hmm could be.. but then again.. why do you want to do that on the nf7?...
would be cool to find out what that is..

I've babelfihed that site and the writing under the picture says:
Vcore/Vddr/Vdd in each case BIOS specification - boosting possibility
Mod on the picture is just Vcore mod, and I think this is completely useless, because non-modded NF7 gives you an option to run Vcore as high as 2.3V. ;)
My first post at Xtreme. Yupiee!! :D

No shizz. Thats pretty lame. Uncool in my book.
Anybody know of a good v-core measuring point on the NF7? I havent tried pokin around in there cuz I got a 80mm fan blowin on mine now, but the winbond chip shows the vcore fluctate quite a bit. I'd like to find a good place to measure right on the mobo.

I'v looked for a VCORE mod for the board before and had no luck, I just dont like the voltage options when you get over 2V. My CPU needs 2.03V to run 2.4Ghz. This board is not as good as the one I RMA'ed. It has all the same cooling but the voltages are a lot lower and more unstable.

The best spot to check Vcore is on one of those 4 capacitors wich are tight together, you can see them in lower part of picture in the first post. But you must have access to backside of mobo.
Or on CPU socket, but that can be quite dangerous if your hands are shking too much.

thanx. Doesnt make clear which spot would be best, but good pics. And I'm not sure I wanna saw up my mobo tray. Anybody think soldering a wire onto one of those caps or maybe the cpu socket would cause any problems? I dont wanna introduce any EMI into the CPU's voltage regulation circuit or anything...
That site has some nice L12 wire-socket pics too, nice and clear.

With soldering a loose wire somewhere on your mobo, you could easily make a nice antenna, pickin'up EMI and other distortion, don't think you want that.
