View Full Version : Prommie drops to -33C, but won't POST

I hooked up my Prometeia, it's all set up, and the damn thing won't boot!

It drops to -33C (so the unit itself is working flawlessly ) but after that, my system is still "standing by"... No POST, no nothing... One thing to note is that the motherboard appears to have power before the Prometeia "lets" it - that is, the NB fan spins (as soon as I hit the power button) and the power indicator lights are on. Is this supposed to happen?

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the quick reply - so you mean, I should just connect the Power and Reset leads straight from the case to the motherboard, and start the Prometeia by jumpstarting it's Power lead? Please clarify (so I don't do anything stupid).

Thanks,
Mike

umm what i did was just leave the silver and blue/white wires out, keep the molex connector attached(from the prommie to the psu), then connect the case power switch and reset right to the mobo.
I push power and hit delete, and go into bios, and just wait for the temp i want then go into windows.
never had any problems that way
good luck
Bryan

How do you turn the Prometeia on? I can't seem to jump start it without the Prometeia's power lead being plugged into the mobo.

Thanks again,
Mike

yea thats what the 4 pin molex is for, when you hit the power button it turns the prommie on.

ok so then you should have a yellow/black 4 pin molex from the prommie, plug that into the psu, hit power and you should be good to go..
but remember this is coming from a amd user, it could be diff on intel, but i doubt it.

Ok, did everything you suggested, and it worked... But still no POST. I'm pretty sure nothing is fried (although not certain) because there are no strange smells in the air, etc.

Any ideas? Anything at all a newbie might be overlooking?

Anybody want to take the time to list EVERY step you took in installation?
