I want to put one of my LED fans in my PSU and ive never done this before so im being a little cautious. THe fan in the psu only has 2 connectors, red and black, but my new fan has red black and yellow. Im gonna cut the wire from the psu to the fan (its attached somehow and just wire the red to red and black to black and leave yellow hanging, is this the way to go?

should work just fine. the yellow wire is for RPM monitoring.

Oh okay, thanks for clarifiying that. Anyway, ive decided im gonna get another 80mm fan in instead of replacing the other, but i dont have a dremel so i may not be able to cut the holes with my fathers tools. I wanted an LED fan, and if i replaced the one with one it would be going out the back of the case not down into it, so im gonna cut a hole in the cover. Its a tight fit, but i think it will work.

Can anyone reccommend which Dremel model is good for the price? Im not looking to spend a lot of money ($50-ish) but i dont want some crap that cant cut through my metal case and other things.

Any basic dremel is fine. I mostly use #420 cut off wheels.
Just don't buy a cordless one. They suck. I had to recharge mine after 4 or 5 minutes of work.

Oh... really... I thought the cordless ones were the more expensive/better ones. Nevermind about that then, i'll watch the ads and see if anything good pops up and ill post it back here.

Does anyone have any good experience with any of the cordless ones? The cheapest one that plugs into the wall is like $60 and the cheapest cordless one its $30. Id much rather have one for $30 so i could get the extra toolkit and still be cheaper than the corded one.

don't buy it, I think the cordless one will be too weak and the batteries depleted too quickly (don't expect quality for 30$!)

it's okay for smaller work, but I doubt if it would be any good to cut through cases

ill see if my dad will split the cost of the $100 one, since it can be used as a family 'tool'.
