One of the threaded brass stands off the Intel CPU Kit for my Mach 2.How i am i going to fix?I must have applied to much pressure.

Any ideas?

it shouldn't be too hard to fix ? did it come off the metal plate ?? or did you break a screw off in it ??

If it just came off the metal plate, they are just crimped on . You should be able to get it back on the plate and then soldier it in place.

Soldering will destroy the clip, it will loose its strenght, if you must use a MIG welder...

Thanks for the replies.I must have done it too tight this time trying to get better contact with the core.I managed to get the screw out, oh well another lesson learned (as i am a Engineer i better keep it to myself!).I am trying a metal/proxy glue ,its in a small vice at the momment with a lamp fixed on it.This may not have enough strengh but worth a try.I wonder if chip-con will replaced just the clip that i need?I have already sent them a email.

Find a local machine shop and have them TIG weld a small bead around both stands. Might even get it done for free since it will only take about 5 minutes. I TIG'ed mine and have had no problems. The metal epoxy might not take the cold temps too well.

I wouldn't waste much time gluing as you won't have much tensile strength. Take it in and get it tig welded....cheap

Just to give you guys a quick update.Chip-con responded within 24 hours of my email sent.They will replace th part and ship it for free!Wow that is great service.

Just a further update.Got the part today it was shipped from Denmark on the 21st August.Bear in mind Monday in the UK was a Bank Holiday.So Great service i think.
