Got my parcel today with both cards, took 8800Ultra out and set about putting these two

They are ICEQ3 Turbo editions 850/2380 :p:

Got 8.1 ATI driver installed okay, but how do i make sure crossfire is enabled... Crysis and UT3 both crash now... crysis lasts about 2 seconds and UT3 few seconds more before freezes then have to END task via task manager... Not impressed thus far!!

Is there a wrong way and right way for putting crossfire bridge on... i.e you can have writing facing away or towards the back of the case...

Help much appritiated!! :yepp:

I've got a suggestion for you to test:

Try running crysis in windowed mode. Or even whatever game you want to try.

Sounds dumb but when i play crysis with crossfire I can only play in windowed mode and not fullscreen. It really sucks but I'd rather play the game like this than not play at all.

hope this helps a little bit. :D

Upon testing cards individually one of my new cards wasnt working right... i.e crashes system under small load!! Other one works fine touch wood... OCUK giving me RMA for item so crossfire should be up and running by end of week!

His ICEQ3 Turbo cards are crap period.... after extensive testing of second belived to be fine card... conks out after 10 mins of fur rendering test used to stress to max..

Only got to 75C which isnt hot at all generic 3870's get to 90's in reviews on net... i just think the Turbo versions are clocked to high and crap out when get remotely hot...

Refund should be in order from OCUK!!!!

Why would want replacement for more :banana::banana::banana:eness!

8800Ultra All the way 700/1725/2350 24/7 85C max in 3d fur rendering!! just shame can only have one of these in current mobo ... will get Evga 780I when comes out!

I don't understand why people pay a premium for pre oc'd cards. They're way over priced and as you found out, less reliable than a standard card

Plus, where's the fun in oc'ing it if the manufacturer already does it for you.

Sucks that you have to wait so long for the RMA's though.

running games in windowed mode will use 2d clocks and not full speed (no load on the card).

I bought them on week special deal meant the Turbo version was same price as two normal ICEQ3's so why not one would of thought..

Cards preoverclocked too much perhaps, i dont want to have to underclock them to get them to work.. otherwise they are doing what was claimed at point of sale (REFUND!!!)

But, if you had an 8800 Ultra, why not just buy a second one? It would have cost just a little more than the 3870 pair and would have yielded a far greater performance increase...

Did you overclock each card individually in crossfire? Adjust one card doesn't overclock both.

Still doesn't seem like it should be an issue. You might want to try the 7.12 drivers too.
