last weekend i put in my new evga 780i board and a second 8800gtx. after reinstalling vista 64, i installed the latest chipset drivers and forceware 169.32. also installed every recommended hotfix there is for vista and 4gb, dx10, sli, etc. before enabling sli, i tried out a few games and there were no issues. tf2, cod4, crysis all ran fine. as soon as i enabled sli everything crapped out. some games started being choppy, crysis started crashing after loading the game (with the "nvlddmkm has stopped working" error), gears of war crashed every 5 seconds so i couldnt even get into the game. i tried different driver versions too using driversweeper to clean out previous ones and still had no luck. basically games were unplayable. so i disabled sli, and everything goes back to normal. then after searching around on google, i tried removing 2 sticks of ram leaving 2x1gb and enabled sli again. and guess what, everything works great. sli is working, games are smooth and not crashing every 5 seconds, and no more nvlddmkm error. everything is perfect except that i only have 2gb of ram now. i want to put the other 2 sticks back in but i am so fed up at this point i dont want to try out a million different things to get it working with 4gb. is there anyone who has a similar setup that doesnt have this problem or has had the problem and has found a solution in which you can keep at 4gb? id appreciate any help.

update your BIOS and then turn on memory remap in the memory option in the bios. this should solve your crashing problem with the 4gb

Sometimes the manual will not show some information because it was added to the BIOS after the manual was produced.

i was looking in the nvidia forums and they say "Memory Hole Remapping", i asked a guy from Techpowerup who has trisli and he says that its not in the bios; its automatic. try the new drivers (171.16) and see if it works out.
