I actually need a new PSU and MicroCenter has this on sale...

For $39.95 with a $30 MIR, I don't see how I could really go wrong.
Unless of course it's a total flake and I'll have to replace it in a month...

Never ever cheap out on a PSU.
You should get a Corsair HX520 or HX620 ;)
And the only Cooler Master PSU worth getting is the 1kw one.

Power supplies are very important components. It's not only a hassle to replace them when they fail, but you also run the risk of damaging your hardware.

Guess I should have mentioned this is for an HTPC, not my main rig....
That Corsair does look pretty sweet, maybe I should just spend the extra $$$ and move the Ultra 500 from my main rig to the HTPC....
Are CoolerMasters know to be shakey?

ultra is more "shakey" than CM is (it may not be true but they are about equal) but u should get a good psu for ur main rig
look at the corsair 550W its the cheapest thats reliable that i saw there

Thats a whole lot more than $10 after MIR... :ROTF:
But I'm sure you guys are right! I may actually add another VC to my main rig (X-Fire) and I'm not sure that CM would handle it...
Pretty sure the 500w Ultra would be fine for the HTPC though.. Thanks for the comments folks!

Nice sales at Micro Center this month :D
I'm mad because i have a bad habit of buying crap I don't need from work, and this month, some prices are lower than my employee discount :(
Cooler Master's Real Power Pro series are pretty decent. Not sure about the Extreme Power's though...They're made by HiPro, right?

I know the 430W is a HiPro, and is a decent budget unit, the 500W and higher are Seventeam's IIRC, and have an inflated wattage.
The Corsair VX-450 would probably be a good option for $62 after MIR though.
