vista takes 30mins to boot ?!!?!?!??!!??

ok... pc has been running fine... turned off my pc last night... and then turned on this morning and now vista is incredibly slow!!

took 30mins just to boot in windows.....

im scanning for malware and virus's none as of yet.Tried a system restore has not helped..

All i can think it is a trojan/virus/malware w/e

any clues guys??

Try unplugging any all your usb devices, see if that helps. Is the whole OS slow or just booting? If just booting so you could boot to the install disc and try to repair the boot files.

set bios to default....temps ok?

cleared cmos and temps are fine....

i fixed it :)

it was my avg anti-virus that was the source of the problem un-installed it everything is fine again

That's odd...in general AVG works without a hitch in Vista

AVG is working fine with my computer with vista ultimate x64 and vista ultimate x32.

yeah i know cd it wouldnt update for some reason.. must of been corrupted installed a fresh new avg works fine
