So before x-mas, I hit up In"comp"etant"USA" because they were having mad closing sales, and I had a gift card from my b-day two months before.

I didn't want the money to go to waste, so I stopped in the only one in my area.

Founnd a set of Altec Lansing speakers w/sub for 55$ - 10% - giftcard = 5$

Not a bad deal right?

Well, when my sound is turned down low, I get cracking an popping in the speakers.

I know its not the sound card, because when I unplug the speakers/sub from the PC, it still continues. If the music/sound is loud enoough I don't hear it, but I am sitting 2 ft from the speakers so I don't need the volume up loud.

Its really starting to piss me off. Paid 5$, so really I can't complain, but I can't stand the noise.

So.................thoughts on this. AS I SAID ITS NOT MY SOUND CARD, its the speakers/sub.

Check the cables to the PC and the wires to the speakers and see if that is the problem. Is there no way to get them replaced?

Its not the cable to the PC. AS stated I pulled the jack from the PC, with the speakers/sub still on and the popping/static continued in both speakers.

Sounds like you have a bad amplifier or power supply. Either way the system is defective. Can they not be returned?

All sales are final on clearance Items. They should let you swapp these speakers for something of or close to equal Value.

Yeha I know the routine, sad part as the only CrapUSA that was with in two hours drive is now closed. The next one is like 4+ hours. If it is still open.

probably a bad capacitor in their power supply. Crack it open and take a look.
