hi guys first off im new onto xtremesystems and this is my first post.

Just so u know ive been overclocking for roughly 2-3 months now and im pretty confident about what iam doing. although i have some questions. When flashing a HD3870 bios will i be able to push my hd3870 pretty high on air (using an accelero s1 optionally attaching one maybe two fans?). And do i need a floppy or should i just use an USB stick?

I'd apprichiate if someone could actually post a quick guide of how to. Ive read some guides i googled but i didint quite get them.. :/

Only advantage of custom bios with 3870 is
1) lack of PLL bug that won't let you go above 862 MHz
2) ability to boot with your custom clocks (no need to use RivaTuner or Overdrive)

You can use USB stick, there's a great guide at TechPowerup (http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/34/5)

Be aware that you cant actually increase voltage by use of flashing/modded bioses. That can only be done using hard mods. This is a common misconception.

doesn't the new AtiTool allow software increase of vcore?

doesn't the new AtiTool allow software increase of vcore?

It does, i have a 2900XT CF rig and AtiTool lets me increase Vgpu, Vdimm and the voltage for the memory output buffers. I do not remember wich build I am using, but i guess it isn't the latest, i've had it for a couple of months now.
