I wanna build a new build... ofc... so far, the best thing i have been able to find is from a Tom's Hardware article... (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/Intel-Pentium-Dual-Core-E2140-overclocking,review-29816.html)

E2140 @ 3.00ghz (hopefully)
MSI P35 Neo2-FR
2x1gb Geil Black Dragon DDR II ram
512mb GECUBE Radeon HD 3850 X-Turbo III
500GB Samsung SpinPoint T
Antec Sonata III
Widescreen 19" Samsung SM920NW TFT @ 1440x900

what i wanna know, is, will the cache size make a real difference to my gaming? Will getting a AMD 5000+BE be better for gaming? and is there anyone else who can come up with a better price? (all components have been found on ebuyer.co.uk, and the ram will be sourced from novatech)

also, the budget is £600, all inclusive, ie, with all components, monitor, and OS (windows)... i do intend to OC...

thanks for any and all help... :)

Looks pretty good. The cache will make a bit of a difference, but you put the money in the right places, for sure. By the way, never predict the overclock of your future processor... it's just bad luck.

lol. kay. thanks for the advice... would it be better to spend one pound more and then get the higher multiplier of the 2160? i'll not know what to set for my ram timings though...

I wouldn't bother spending the extra money on a turbo edition of the 3850. Overclocking a vid card is very easy.

Unless of course, I'm reading this all wrong, and your vid card is a standard 3850.

O_O If that's the case, then sure, get it... however if you were being dramatic about the price difference then really think about it... if it's, say... £6-7 more, then once you settle for that, there will be another better processor that is £6-7 more than that... eventually you're on a slippery slope to buying a £1000 PC.

@ Drunner - it's an oced version, but i thought i may as well get a branded version w/ 512mb, rather than the OCUK unbranded one... which i don' know about... also, i have an affinity for 512mb HD38500s ;)

@sly - yep, it's one pound more... then the 2180 is about 6 poundss more, but i don't want to jump on the 'if only' bandwagon :P
