Hi all,

I recently switch CPUs in my HTPC since I had a spare E6850 sitting so I took out the old one and decided to overclock.

I am using a Gigabyte P35 DQ6 and 4GB of Team Xtreme Elite mem as a pltaform.

So I had the system up and running stable at 3.78Ghz (on air - Thermalright Ultra Extreme) and 1.55Vcore at Bios. All was running fine until suddenly my CPU decide that I will not accept any overclock at all above stock speed! This is really weird since as I said it was working fine!

So what do you reckon? Any kind of overclock will stop Vista Ultimate 64bit (ORIGINAL) from booting. I also flashed to the latest bios.

Please any ideas?

I think your going to have to have a look at the kenuker valve. It may be stuck closed. Or possibly the transistor lubricator resivoir under the IHS. Make sure its full. Hehe :) sorry I couldnt help it.

Otherwise just shake it like a lightbulb and see if it rattles. Thats how I tell if my CPU's are bad.

But it just had the 50,000 Miles service so all these should be checked!
