Hey there,
I'm looking for a good LCD - 20' to 22'. Unfortunately, here in Argentina there aren't that much brands - forget about NEC... maybe some Acers, Dells or Viewsonics. Therefore, I would like to know what model (of this well known brands) is the best to buy. I’ve read some reviews, but I want to listen to the opinions of enthusiasts (that use them for gaming, graphic design, etc).
Tnx!

Dells are excellent but pricey. Acers are great and cheap. I have a Viewsonic and it was a bit overpriced for what I expected.

What Dell model would you recommend?

Can't you get LG or Samsung LCD monitors? They are excellent brand. Besides, Samsung makes LCD monitor for Dell anyway. Dell version isn't as good as Samsung. Don't ask me the reason.

where did you read? just curious coz, many years ago Sony used Mitsubishi CRT for their high-end 20" CRT---remember those:ROTF: ...and sold the CRTs at a marked up price...just so you can say you have a sony 20".

Oh, I see. What Samsung model would you recommend for gaming and design? I quite hate ghosting, keep that in mind please.

What native resolution do you want? Also, do you want widescreen?
I personally own a 20.1" Samsung 204b monitor. Aside from the bad downward viewing angle, it's pretty nice. 1600x1200 is a good amount of space for what I do. If you are into design, I'd suggest getting as high of a resolution as possible.

I’m not picky about resolution, but I do like widescreen displays. Something between 1440*900 ~ 1920*1080 is fine.

Samsung 226BW looks pretty badass. Here are the specs:

I've seen some problems with the different versions of this lcd, but if I go for this one, I'll be sure to get the "S".

NEC 20WGX2 Pro.
S-IPS Panel, which means it is true 8-pit, none of the 6bit TN film yuck and also 178 viewing angles, 6ms g2g response time, no ghosting and also beautiful colours.
I just wish they did a larger model. (say a 24" one)
Here is a review NEC 20WGX2 Pro (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/nec_20wgx2_phase2.htm)
