So I finally have my setup finished and tried playing Serenity HD-DVD and noticed I don't have 5.1. I threw in Star Wars and it had 5.1. Now I know everything is connected right as I can play the noise demo in the Volume Panel and everything is correct. I tried both the Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack from Serenity and from Transformers both were only 2 channel.

Software:
PowerDVD 7.3 (config set to 6 speaker, Effects: none)
AnyDVD 6.3.1.2 trial
Windows XP Pro 64-bit
Auzentech Audio Console (Entertainment Mode, 5.1, CMSS-3D off)

Hardware:
Azentech Prelude connected to receiver via analog cables
LG GCC-H20L HD-DVD/Blu-ray drive (updated firmware)

Is there something I am overlooking or doing incorrectly?

Did this work on your previous setup?

I never played HD-DVDs on my old setup. But i figured it out. The OEM version of PowerDVD that comes with the drive doesn't support 6 channel sound over analog

I was actually gonna ask you about that player and if you have tried others.
Did you get the full surround sound to work?

Yeep, that's what I was getting at. I got the OEM two channel as well. I paid the other $34.95 for the Download for the updates and unlocks. Very nice, it even plays DVD-Audio and DTS Discs. I never tried the HD stuff though, still waiting for all of the dust to settle and I want it for backing up data and etc... Can't see spending that much for ROM.

Yes I got it working, and it sounds marvelous :) Movies have never sounded so good.

I tried a WinDVD trial, but it didn't even play the HD-DVD.

Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 'Platinum' is what got it to work.

You need AnyDVD HD. Codecs and encryption differ from regular DVD. You may also need a special version of PowerDVD. I had my 360 add-on running awhile ago and can't remember for sure if you need a special version of PowerDVD, but you definitely need AnyDVD HD. Cheers.

This is for HD-DVDs though, Media Player can't even play them AFAIK. As I said above DVDs were playing fine.

Actually I don't nee AnyDVD. I have uninstalled it, and the HD-DVDs are still playing fine.

The Prelude and HD-DVD's great combination.
@Yukon, Your talking about installing the 360's HD-DVD drive? You a DIY'er?
considered that myself..

I believe so. I thought AnyDVD was just to bypass HDCP. Well either way it runs without it perfectly fine.
