I'm so pissed , anyone give advise please

Ok , first , windows does not recognize the HD to install window , in the bios does (the HD connect to SATA 1 on Maximus )

Then I connect to SATA 5 , it recognize but give error message "" windows could not determine if this computer contains a valid system volume""

Look like the maximus is garbage , I paid for 270 buck and likely to RMA

Is the bios showing the hd at post? Then look at the bottom of the screen when in the bios first list and go into the sata settings and set it to ide.

Make sure to partition the drive first?

some how I got it install, just keep changing to the different sata connector

I think I got a different problem , my E8400 with 120 Ultra Extreme lapped idle at 37c and 35c respectively , not yet overclock everything stock , is this too hot or normal

delete all partions on HD and create one new partion

completely reformat hard drive (the partion) from msdos is my suggestion

may take an hour or two

then try and install windows
