I've just started playing with this board and trying to find how to use it correctly.
It seems me a bit tricky actually. But, I've to say it gives the best FSB results for this QX9650. Until now, I've never had the opportunity to bench it above about 458FSB but the P5E WS Pro brings it up to 467FSB stable for Spi 32M.
I've to perform some more investigations on straps and dividers functionning. Strange things happen... It can't boot on strap 266 @420FSB but does it easily @430FSB :p Also, at those clocks while using strap 266, memory dividers won't work and it's required to let this setting to Auto. That's a bit weird because Auto setting results in 2:3 ratio and that means a very high DRAM frequency.
Vcore makes the board stopping at 1.92v... :)
To be continued.

Hi dude,
Seems that you finally found a great place to play :D I've just ordered same mobo but DDR3 ;) My Maximus Extreme died during this little oc week with kj and boby, I think this :banana::banana::banana::banana: didn't like many reboots I have afflicted due to coldboot at -88°
Bye

EDIT: Oh, I forgot ! I finally found my chip ! (+500 FSB on air and -166° coldbug ;))

Yeah looks like a pretty nice chip indeed. :)
I'll pick up the DDR3 version ASAP too. That's the one I want to play with.

Thank you ;) Anyway, the pp isn't that good... dunno why; Windows is finely tuned and it seems me I can't deal better with the straps/ratios... BTW, my OS isn't updated with latest patches, so the compatibility with 45nm isn't that good; check the Everest screenies, L2 cache isn't detected...

Thanks buddy :)
It's wonderfull board for real! Absolutely no vdroop on mine, in fact, it gets .01v more under load due to Vcore mod; but there was no change before volt-modding. That's pretty impressive.
BTW, 266 strap behavior is puzzeling me actually; and the board can't handle more than about 1.92v which isn't enough under cold.

My boards have no droop at all too.....just wonderfull:D also i can go too 530FSb without touching volts on both boards. 570 with just the Nb at 1.4v:D have to test more FSB with better wolfdale :D I have only tryed up to 1.88v on mine so i did not see that. I have no problem with the straps at all...what BIOS are you using??:)

Amazing results before  Don't you ever try your CPUs under liquid nitrogen ? Not that "Petite Bertha" isn't just lovely ;), but for even better temps ... :)

 530FSB with only 1.4V @ nb ... Wow, you must have bought several of them ... :D

well...actely, like i wrote above, its 530 with all volts at STOCk. And 570 FSb with only 1.4v :D i just dont have a cpu to test further :)
I bought 3. 1 for bench, 1 for 24/7. And 1 for my wifes computer :D I love this board :) thats why i have not jumped to DDR3 yet :D

1.92V is OVP limit, uh? Seems like the same as with P5K vanilla. Does the board have the same voltage controller chip? In that case the OVP mod with 250k VR might do the trick, 2V Vcore should be no problem.

Performance product is pretty bad... can't figure out how to improve it.
Spi 32M can pass @5520MHz(460FSBx12) with 1.928Vcore but the voltage causes the board to randomly reboot making it pretty hard to use. :) BTW time improvement wasn't that good... :(

That's a very good FSB :D
I'm using the lastest bios; rev. 0506. Original one didn't support 45nm CPUs so I've flashed it immediately.

LN² is useless for this chip. It starts to cold-bug @-118C and can't run under my 3 stager if I let it running at its full power. Actually, it can do about 5.8GHz benchable at about -130C but only with a quite low FSB.
The 2 stager is the best solution; it gives about -115C to -112C loaded; so the CPU isn't cold-bugged and can do decent FSB.

Controller is the one that is also used for P5B series: ADP3198. IIRC it's also the same for the P5K Vanilla.
That's made me think about OVP modding my P5B E+... :D Until now, the P5E definitely not outperform the P5B!
EDIT: Guess I've found the OVP mod for the P5B Deluxe; it may works on my E+ too. I'll look at the P5E WS tomorrow.

I've sent this board back. Waiting for a P5E3 WS Pro now.
Guess, I'll first recieve a DFI LP DK P35 T2RS. :D (It's already on the way...)
Anyway, I've found both the Vcore and the OVP/Vcore mods for the P5E WS Pro; if someone wants them, I can share... ;)
