i am in the final stages of finishing my TJ07 water cooled rig. with the abundance of fans in my build, i need some sort of fan speed controller. i have yet to find any products for sale that i like enough to get. most are 3 or 4 channel controllers or something crazy like the zalman zm-mfc2 which is overkill for what im wanting. im a real fan of home brew electronics so this is a perfect chance to make something just right for my need.

i need to design a 5 channel variable speed fan controller. it will be installed at the back of my TJ07 at the bottom next to the PSU.

bank 1
radiator 1 (3 120mm fans) 3x silverstone FN121, 12v, 0.07amp
bank 2
radiator 2 (2 120mm fans) 2x silverstone FN121, 12v, 0.07amp
bank 3
rear panel (2 92mm fans) 2x silverstone FN92, 12v, 0.22amp
bank 4
top panel (2 120mm fans) 2x silverstone FN121 12v, 0.07amp
bank 5
accessory (1 82mm fan on HD's for now) 1x silvertone FN82 12v, 0.22

i want to try and keep just one 4pin molex connector for power in.

i am very good at soldering, sleaving, and fabricating. i am just not so good at the design/engineering aspect of things. please help me come up with a simple , clean design that gets the job done. thanks in advance.

What i did is got a 6 pole toggle switch, which allows me to run the fans @ 12 V or @ 5V or 7V, depending on cable position in the molex connector, ive seen a friend do the same thing, but with a resistor, so its not just limited to 12, 5 and 7 V, but this only means you can have two speeds, not variable.

Ill post more info and pics if your interested
