Yeah, it's the most likely choice.

When is Alan Wake coming out? I've been waiting for it since they first showed trailers of it :)

I just picked up a copy of FarCry for $5 on sale, unfortunatly I wont even be able to play it for about a week because I am going to reformat PC starting thursday evening.

it's too early for crysis 2 and typically there is a major press release or announcement of some sort from the dev them selves.

I'm contacting Cry-Alex about this.

But The "Crysis 2" screenshots are using CryEng 2. You can see similar screenshots I've taken myself here (http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c398/Warboy/Warboys%20Crysis/).

Could be FarCry2 but... I'm leaning towards original Crysis at total max with some heavy tweaking. I've only played the demo of Crysis though, so I won't put money on that.

The pics fits good with Far Cry 2's western/desert theme so that's what I think it is unless it's heavily tweaked Crysis pics but the environment makes me believe it's Far Cry 2. Crysis 2 is probably far away and pics at this time doesn't make sense imo, and I think when that arrives I don't think there will be any question about it if it's Crysis 2 or not as I expect it to have a lot better killer graphics than this.

I wonder if these 2 games (Far Cry 2 & Alan Wake) will run any better than a slideshow on current hardware though. :p:

can't be FarCry2, FarCry2 is using a totally different Engine. Also Those graphics are too on par with Crysis.

But I also Think its just a custom level with a tweaked Config file like mine.

Guys.

Crysis consist of 3 episodes atleast.

That's why you get the Crysis 2 shot, because it's the next episode. D'oh, has no-one played the game here?

Anybody can inject textures in sandbox, I can even make a billboard saying "FARCRY2" with the Official text and such.

Also, Remember You can Open Farcry 1 maps with Crysis's Sandbox 2, and fix the textures and convert it for Crysis.

The water breaking the light in that second pic is crazy
Although it's probably just tweaked Crysis... Crysis 2 is, as they've said, still too far off to be plausible, and Far Cry 2 uses an entirely different engine, and is developed by Ubisoft, not CryTek...

And, as I've said before, if Crysis is a slide-show, you're the one doing something wrong... I get perfectly playable framerate (+30fps outside, 40-60fps inside) and fantastic IQ at 1680x1050 with a blend of cheap very-high, high and medium settings on my system...

Not just that, there are trailers on Youtube as well... off-screen presentations of the game engine... It's clear that Ubisoft is trying to show CryTek that they made a mistake by leaving...

The question is how are they going to get Frycry 2 to work on consoles (recently announced? I'll bet my top dollar that IF they can get it to work on consoles, then any PC woth a 8800 class gfx card will play it easily.

Oh btw i think they are mods of the original crysis. It looks the same just at a very high res.

Greetings,

This is not a leaked screenshot and neither is it from Crysis2. It is a screenshot of a Crysis level a user on Crymod.com is working on currently.

Cheers,

This was linked over at VR-Zone as well.

Stop calling Crysis a tech-demo, it's getting old...
Crysis is a lot of fun, if you can't see that, your imagination is severly limited, and you should just go play COD4 where every single thing you do is already determined for you...

Crysis 2? No one can barley handle Crysis 1, why not wait and use "crysis" from a marketing stand point as the game series that takes your computer to its knee's. What new graphical developments does 2 have over 1, are they making another purely based off game play?

Read up, I think crysis2 is not in "Cannon" range just yet. Basiclly.

So they are still working on Crysis 1, and I know there is a storyline plan, but Its unknown when crysis 2 will come out, just like it took how many years for FarCry 2 to happen? lol
So they Might be starting work on Crysis 2, but i don't think it will come out anytime soon.

My imagination is severely limited when I can fully enjoy games with ASCII graphics? I think that if you really need to run Crysis @ Very ultra high @ 16xAA 32xAF to be able to enjoy it, then YOUR imagination is severely limited. ;)

IF Crysis was a enjoyable GAME, people wouldn't care about it being way too heavy for current hardware. Too bad that people care about the graphics more than they care about the content. Yet they whine when they have to pay $80 for a game which they will play for what, 50 hours total?:banana::banana::banana: the outlook, bring in the content and pay $50 for an "ugly" game, which you will play hundreds of hours. Sounds good?

I think you're missing the context of what I'm saying... Crysis isn't an on-rails shooter, and it therefore requires you to do things in your own way, which lends itself to a lot of enjoyment, at least for me...
Also, Crysis is a shooter, so for you to enjoy it, it has to run smooth, it's basic rules of FPS-gaming...

I don't run Crysis on anywhere near max settings on my current HW, and I still enjoy it immensly, I'm still amazed by the graphics and physics at work, and I still think it's one of the best shooters this year, leagues ahead of Halo 3 and even COD4...

From what I read, you're an RPG&/adventure-fan, so shooters obviously aren't for you in the first place... If you don't mis-interpret that, then we're on the same page :)

This to me looks awsome. It also looks nothing like the in game video demos of seen of FARCRY2 therefore I think it will be CRYSIS 2.

To me it looks like the early images of CRYSIS before they had to remove alot of the features due to hardware optomisations, the waves for example.

they just patched version 1 a bit early ya think? not unless their engineers stayed up smoking crack & coding since the release of crysis 1 (which from the amount of bugs in the original i think they may have done originally lol)

Eh?
I've played through the game on three different difficulties now, and I've encountered only one bug, which was removed by loading an older save-game...
(Well, two, I encountered a shooting rifle floating on a table in the carrier-mission at the end, but that was more hilarious than worrysome  )...
Overall it has a suprisingly high level of coding-work, especially compared to other FPS-games these days (BF-series come to mind)...

Maybe I'm crazy, but the supposed "Crysis 2" shots look like regular Crysis to me. I mean sure, they've cranked the settings by messing with the config file, and perhaps it's a custom map, but nothing there looks significantly different from Crysis. I'm looking forward to Far Cry 2 :D

PS: Stargazer, I think you might want to change avatar considering Alonso took third, losing out to Hamilton. Either way, he's back at Renault now.
