We've just dug up a copy or two of Beta Forceware. Here's a quick look at the performance over the existing WHQL driver, the 169.25. Test bench specifications, and RivaTuner shots are below:

CPU overheads have gone down with the beta drivers, yet 3D performance (particularly SM3.0/HDR) has taken a hit from switching to beta. Apparently there's some work to be done over at Santa Clara, for DX9.0C.

My Money is the "G92-100" is the 9800GX2 so the rumors about G100 could be the GX2's core aka G92-100

5 frames increase in Crysis I guess this will be an optimized DX1O driver? I hope the omega team gets this driver maybe they could do something more.

You do know that 5 FPS when the game is running at 20 FPS is over a 25% increase right?

YES!!! I made this comment without any sarcasm, the thought of gaining 5 frames in crysis really makes me happy, new patch 4-5 FPS,new driver 5fps=10FPS,now we're talking.

Considering 8800GT is named G92-270 and 8800GTS512 is G92-400.
I wouldnt really expect a highend card...

Ye, but seems to be 2 editions. G92-150 and G92-100. The 100 should only have 92SP.
Anyway, it is a 8800GS, same ID 0606

Good benchmark results warboy and thanks for the test results:up: . So one should stay away from these beta drivers and Omega driver sucks too. I canīt play crysis cos my Vga driver keeps on crashing and i donīt know why.
I gave up hope when it happened again after running 3dmark06 and prime95 for over 5hrs. Does someone have any idea on how to get this game stable:confused:

all i got was a better 3dmark06 point but crysis is still crashing due to display driver issue. Am at wits end:shrug:

What sort of crashes are you getting exactly? I get constant crashes as well where it drops to desktop with the application has stopped responding message. If I check event viewer the crash is related to numerous different DLL's. CryengineD3D9.dll, Cryaction.dll etc. Go into your event viewer under application and see what errors the crash is related too.

By my Q6600 i always get the vga driver has stopped working bla.. bla.. bla.., then my rig wounīt react any more. I always have to reboot damn:mad: It runs without problem on my low end AMD Athlon 64 3000@2Ghz s939 with 2Gb ram and the same 8800GTS in my sig. Meanwhile the same VGA driver (169.21). Does this mean that AMD chips are more stable when gaming? If so maybe i have to go back to AMD:shocked:

Sounds more like you have a driver configuration error if you've proved the hardware isn't at fault. Stability within a game isn't determined by the architecture as in the end both architectures are x86 based an execute the same basic instruction set. The Q6600 kicks the crap out of an X2 so I'd just keep it the way it is and find out what software problem is causing your crashing.
