and for those that don't know each key is a small OLED display that can be customized for different functions.

That keyboard looks huge. I bet it's nice and costly as well.

they stated the price in the video. you also can buy it with plastic keys and upgrade to the OLEDs later.
Very cool board, I could see it replacing my G15 (or what ever other gamer KB I end up using) if the price ever comes down to an acceptable level. At its current price for a board with all the OLED keys you could by a pretty decent rig.

3) fully keyboard OLEDs

he said starting 460 for the one key oled and up to 1500. WOW Love the idea, but yeah, just like everyone else said, the price is huge.

$1,500, no.

That's way to much for a keyboard.

Way too much still. Drop to $100 for a normal, and $200 for the OLED. Then I'd consider it.
Within two days a few crumbs will be between the keys and you'll be buying $10 replacement keys by the end of the week.

I like it a lot...though the keys may be too big, can't tell from a video.
I can't afford it, but there's a lot of things I like I can't afford, no biggie.

Nice keyboard, but I can not see your average person buying this. They are crazy!

I guess they don't have the new prototype up and running yet, I'd been hoping they'd have one on display at this CES. Ah well, it took them about two or three years to get this far I suppose their next one will take another year too.
Edit:

This is their concept keyboard, they are hoping to have one running (if not on sale) this year.
it just looks so beautiful but the price is just unacceptable

this is sick! But not practical imo, it also is using the same layout on the left side that G15 uses, which i hate..I dont like the G15 for FPS honestly, its just funky. But man this is one sweet kb

Chris Pirillo blogged that he tried to order one multiple times and it was absolute hell. They wouldn't accept his order.

Cool idea... Nice aesthetics... And probably types like a dream.
The price is just silly for me though. I think I'll stick with my Logitech G15 for a while longer :p:

Who in their right mind would spend that kind of coin for a keyboard:rofl: The developers are a tad touched in the head to think thats gonna fly:ROTF:
I mean cmon thats off the hook! I think 60-$80.00 is entirely too much for a keyboard.

You forget, they don't have to sell millions to make same profit. In the CES show keep in mind there was a lot of filthy rich people who was dropping by to check out 100k stereo systems. What is a grand to these people in their home theatre system...?
It's definitely nice keyboard. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to get hands on it to get feel for it. #1 is always feel, than rest is optional for me and probably for anyone who uses keyboard :)
Omigosh! I really wanted one of these keyboards half way through the video but then when he told us the price..... I was like heck no.
It's cool, but pricey

hmm, I can't see no keyboard? :D
j/k, I mean, the idea is great, but I think it's ugly, they need a designer from Logitech for this one :P
and the price, aww man, I have a few much better ways of spending 1500$ on. ;)

$1,500, no.
Yep. If the makers of the Optimus Maximus were not such stupid morons they would have given it a big lithium battery and a recharge dock. I've noticed that most people with more money than brains abhor wired things, one of their few consistencies that are logical.

Again, the market proves that they don't have a clue. Most see us as crazy folks with more money than brains. Come on guys where the hell is the common sense? Single socket Motherboards that cost as much as Dual Socket Server board, give me a break and NO Frackin thanks!

Was I the only one who paid more attention to the hostess than the actual keyboard?
Sure, the keyboard can change color, but I can make her turn quite red, too.

drop all the prices for all models by about $300, and drop even more for the higher end, then they will have something. The prices they are at now, this thing is surely to tank. Yeah theres people with lots of money that buy ridiculously expensive things. But those things are not a little keyboard. The Normal consumer with lots of money, I dont think would give a crap about oled keys. This type of keyboard leans more toward gamers, and lets face it, gamers are not really the rich type of consumer in most cases. (and im talking really rich) I mean, I spend lots of money on things, high dollar even, in the computer industry. But there is no way in hell your typical gamer can afford (or would even pay for) a 1500 keyboard. Even if it starts at 460 and the rest is spread out with 10 dollar bills.
