Hi guys

Im getting a ultra extreme this week the store im ordering from only has a few choices in thermal paste what would be better for a Q6600 G0 and a ultra extreme.

Artic silver 5
Coollaboratory Liquid Pro
Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad

The store doesnt have Mx 2.

I just use AS5 because I don't think there is really that big of a difference between all of the different choices. I haven't heard anything bad about Coollab Liquid Pro.

so far they have shown the thermalright chill factor did get similar temps to as5, mx-5 and tx-5 are a deg or so lower on both idle and load. ocz freeze isn't better than these. noctua nt-h1 did get lower by a couple of degs. coollaboratory liquid pro is better if applied correctly. shin-etsu isn't the leader anymore.

I wont be lapping either the cpu or heatsink so do you think I would get good contact with coollaboratory liquid pro? And if the chillfactor is about the same in temps then theres not much point in be buying artic silver 5.

Oh :banana::banana::banana: don't get the Coollaboratory Liquid Metal Pad its bad.. i got it and i placed it correctly and i burnt it in. Still got worse temps than mx-2 for me.

this was the review i saw. doesn't look that good for as5. who knows if it burnt in for 200hours they may be a 1deg drop or not ?

I would get mx2 but theres none where I live and my local store has the ones I mentioned above im not ordering from another country just for a thermalpaste.
And has anyone tried the Noctua NT-H1 is it any good?

yeah the NT-H1 is better but its much thicker. so a little should do the trick. its better by just a degree so if its available there just get that then.

It comes with the Ultra extreme right is it any good with quads ?

I think the ones that come with the TRUE is a regular silicon paste, Get MX2 instead

I first tried the thermal goop that came with my TRUE and after a week I removed it and replaced it with MX-2. My load temps dropped 4-5'c with MX2 over the garbage silicon paste that came with the cooler.
