Well, it might not be a record, but I was incredibly happy at my results here. I've been trying to break 17k with all air for a couple of days.. took a lot of tweaking.

With my GPU Core at 823 my max shaders was actually 1971. Dropping the core 3 MHz I was able to squeeze 2030 out of the shaders!

Did it on all air.. stock cooling on the GPU.

Rig shot!

So yea, that's it. 17.2k and I was pretty proud of myself. I was thinking about trying to hit 18k, but I think it would be pretty difficult.. this was about all I could squeeze out of it.

Nice work, it's not just about breaking records, it's about having fun and getting a kick when it all goes well.

Good choice of motherboards! The thermal solution on the non-WiFi verion is so much cleaner. :) Is there any particular reason that you're using the second bank of RAM slots?

Awesome man. Makes me want a quad and a step up to a g92 gts. My GT doesnt clock the best, even with the simple 1.1v mod, i'd like the shaders to pull off some more. @ 3.8 Ghz i get 13,7 with my max GPU clocks. I wanna break 14K

I guess ill wait out the 9800 gx2 tho.

Oh I had a ton of fun! My friend and I were competing for the first one to break 17k. We both had gotten 16.2-16.4s and wanted to push the bar a bit. After a lot of shutdowns and freezers because of the GPU/Shader ratio I finally got a break through and got 17k first. Then he beat me by 37 points. :p: We have the exact same core system (mem, mobo, CPU/GPU).

I've noticed slightly better stability and OCing from them. I have Ballistix under there and before that was a Transcend Kit. Both have been over DDR2-1200 and do just fine. In the yellow slots the memory was not quite as stable. It's also a step away from the HSF so I guess I feel like the CPU can breath a little better.

And as far as the P5K-E.. I love it. The WiFi doesn't even have a heatsink on the upper MOSFETs which is why I steered away from it...
