I'm looking for a 120mm fan to place into the side of my Antec 900 case. Which one would be best out of the two?

This http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-001-YL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-XI&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

Thank you

The Xilence is quite silent, good fan (120 mm one) at least the one I have. The Yate Loon rotates a bit faster, but I think that the Yate is also very good. I would go for the Xilence. Looks prettier than the Yate Loon :D and is probably a bit more silent.

P.S. The 92 mm versions (at least the 2 of them which I have and use) "leaked oil" from their motors. I know that this sounds strange but their blades were wet and greasy after some period of time when they were "online"
I didn't notice that they got louder. No such problems for the 120 and 80 mm version.

No idea where that site got their Yate Loons. Cause from vapor's fan review so far Petra Yate Loons seems the more legit. So 50/50 chance they are same fake china copies.

I've never seen a 'real' Yate like the one in the pic.

How does a real YL look like? How can I tell if the one I get is real?

you could also go for the zalman ZM-F3 linky (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-002-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4) or the scythe S-flex linky (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-SY&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4)

i'm using two of the scythe's on a true and have a Zalman one on my gpu cooler... they are great fans. (also see the fan round up part two stickied here).

as for the yate loons, the petrastechshop ones have the classic 1 red 1 black 1 yellow cable, the ocuk ones have 2 black ones and 1 red, also the plastic "bridges" (or whatever they are called) that hold the fan in the frame are thinker than those from petras.

while it could just be a different revision or a different model, i woudnt risk it, because the fake yate loons did terrible in vapor's fan test.

Thanks, that's good to hear. Very nice fan and very quiet at full speed :) Makes my antec tricools sound like vacuum cleaners.

@apro, how do you figured out that the second is not real YL?

@apro, how do you figured out that the second is not real YL?I know it didn't come from Yate Loon ;)

And it performs differently than the real Yate Loons--different voltage scaling, different CFM/dB curve (not as good), very different (worse) radiator performance.

Ignore the blades, it was the topic of that thread, but has only a small influence on the actual fan...both designs are fine and both have their advantages.

The frame is the important part, plus some other stuff that's hard to detail online.

you mean Xilence Red Wing (92mm)? They are the worstes fans from Xilence and they have small airflow on 5V and you can still hear them. 120mm fans are great and I think it's a little bit quieter than YL but they are in rang...

btw: Pozz swarm, neka vidim jos nekog iz pcexpert ekipe ovdje :D

Yep. You're correct.

The three 140mm D14SM-12 Yate Loon fans have identical labels as the legit ones you posted but the four thin supports that connect the outside section to the central motor have a small groove down the center of them except for the one which has the little plastic tabs which keep the power/ground/rpm wires organized.

This fan below is definitely a fake Yate Loon.

Hi, sorry for bringin this thread back up, but I have been looking at both the Xilence Red Wing 120mm and the Yate Loon 120mm medium version, I am intending to use them for air cooling with an IFX-14 to begin with, and then when I gain a little more money, I will add another two, and put them onto an XSPC 360 rad.....
Which is the better fan? In terms of noise/performance, anyone who has had expieriance which both/either please say which you thought was best....
And is this yate real?
