Today i decided to move from Vista to XP and i suddenly noticed i can't change my FSB anymore from either Windows or BIOS.

All settings are unchanged.

I set 400x9 in BIOS and then save settings and it reboots and says 267x9.
Clockgen only shows the Clocks and Options pages and SetFSB gives me a SMBus Error.

My system specs are:
Q6600 - normally running at 400x9 (now 267x9  )
GigaByte P35-DS3 BIOS F12
4GB RAM

Anybody has a clue on what's going on here.

Thanks,
Dirk-Jan.

Did you try to clear the CMOS memory? Or flash the BIOS to a newer rev.?

Yes, i did a CMOS clear.

The BIOS i am running is the newest. Already flashed it, but didn't solve the problem.

Hmmm, did you try to return back the BIOS to an older version? Is the backup BIOS the same version as the main BIOS?
Well if that doesn't help...maybe the motherboard is failing in some odd kind of way.

Works again, did a second CMOS clear.

Strange that the first one didn't solve the problem.

You just had to clear for a little longer :)
I'm glad that it works now
