With all 680i mbs my e6600 ran 3850mhz,57-62C at 1.55V full load prime stable. Now same case 1 less 8800gtx same cpu, same settings with a maximus formula its running 70-75C full load still prime stable. Both temps with coretemp 0.96.
Edit. I might have install a problem cus they are idling at 45-50C, before it was 20-25C.will try reseat.
Very impressed it will run stable at 75C.

Quite high temperature, a bit to high for my taste :D
Well, it starts to throttle around 100°C, but Prime stable at 70°C, a real CPU burn-in :D
Reseat and reapply thermal compound...But huh, you have watercooling right?

Yes water, swifttech gtx, blackice ex 3, 3 0.45A 120mm fans and a 655 pump.Needs a reapply but I didnt know they ran that high before throttle.

Just noticed this mb has almost no droop, with the 680is 1.55vcore gave 1.45-1.5V, the maximus is giving 1.54V when set to1.55V. Droped vcore to 1.5 and the temps are at 60C full load.

That's way too hot for water. I'd say for sure something is wrong with the mounting.

remounted, same temps. Funny, the q6600 at 1.6v runs cooler.

Those are air temps, something doesn't seem right. Is it possible that you could have received a hotter chip?

my E6600's all run hotter than my quads, including the ones I sold. Same pseeds, same volts, you'd think the quad would report higher temps...but it doesn't. Not one of them does, B3 or G0 doesn't matter!

My PD820 used to run at 65 degrees on the old Thermaltake Jungle I had... :D
