I received a q6600 l737b for Christmas I know it is gonna be a good clocker. My p965-s can't overclock that quad worth anything. So would the Blood Iron or LanParty Dark will get around 9x450 fsb stable.

I would go for the DK over the Blood Iron for a quadcore. The blood iron isn't the best at OCing quads.

Yeah, due to the 4-phase power regs, the Blood Iron generally doesn't do too well on the quads.

Both motherboards have 4 phase PWM BTW.

Between the two i would go with the Lanparty P35 DK.

the Donkey Kong/Drift King will suit your Quad :) or spent $200 instead and get the LT hehe

Heh.... I opted for the LT myself. Mine should be here on Friday. 8 phase PWM FTW!

Thanks for the info guys. Ordered a LanParty Dark from motherboard pro.

ok so i see on this forum you guys all recc the dk model instead of the blood iron.. on other boards they recc the blood iron over the dk model.

what can anyone tell me aside from color (i could care less about the color i dont havea window in my cm690 case and no one will see the board so it could be any color for all i care) and solid caps are the exact differences between these two? i only see a 10$ retail price difference. i know the blood iron can be bought cheaper but everywhere says its a 159.99 retail, the dk can only be found for 159.99 and everywhere says its a 169.99 retail so whats makes up for the 60$ difference there is in online pricing.. know what i mean?

i even asked on the dfi forums and i still have yet to get a cut and dry answer to what the actual differences are. they seem to say there is litle to no difference between them. i can see the small advantage in the oc of quads acording to this board but what else am i paying an extra 62$ for?? seems to have all the same features and power supply etc according to dfi web site and even motherboard pro site? thanks in advance

You are getting a board with slightly better capacitors, traces and overall improved motherboard design. The Darks's BIOS options pretty much give you all the options of the full P35, except V-droop control. V-drop control is implemented by DFI by use of 8 phase power PWM's.

Overall, v-droop should be a tad lower with the DK or Dark than the Blood Iron, meaning slightly lower voltages for the same overclock on the same chip between the 2 boards. The DK should run RAM slightly better than the Blood because of the enhanced BIOS options.

That's how I see the 2 boards.
