View Full Version : Changing Zeus 750ZF fan
Recently i noticed that my PSU is the loudest component in the rig so i was looking for a solution to reduce the noise
The PSU is a silverston Zeus 750ZF The fan inside the PSU is a
Sanyo Denki with a part number 9A0812S401
Size: 80x80x25mm
Voltage: DC12V Current: 0.18A
Speed: 3400rpm
Noise: 34db
Is it easy to change the fan without voiding the warranty ?
Also it is advisable to do so provided that the new fan will be around 22-25dba ?
Rest of the system
3800X2 cooled by freezer 64 pro @ 1100 rpm
DFI Lanparty SLI cooled by Evercool VC-RE @ 2200rpm
7900GS with stock cooling @ 20% fan speed (will be replaced with 8800GT)
2GB DDR1 + 250GB Sata HD and single YL 80MM case fan @ 1150 rpm
so basically i am not pulling much power and rest of the system is very silent

Impossible... and I wouldn't fan mod that one either considering the placement of the fan and how hot they run towards the exhaust.
If you want something similar quality and less noisy, I'd sell the Zeus and grab something like a Corsair TX750, Ultra X3 800, or PC P&C Silencer 750.

Selling the PSU is not an option it is either keep it or keep it
It is impossible to change the fan or impossible to change it without voiding the warranty

impossible to change it without voiding the warranty, since at least you will have to cut or remove the warranty sticker to open it
From Jonny review it looks easy

You have to take the top panel off to get the fan out of the housing. When you unscrew that top panel, you break the warranty sticker.

well i don't see a reason for not doing this , after checking out i found that my warranty sticker is already broken :yepp:
The image from your review shows that the fan is using only tow wires ,, so i can cut the wires of the new fan and push them into the pads
Will do it as soon as i finish my exams

sorry for DP
Kemo you need to be sure that the silent fan will provide enough airflow to cool the components inside your psu, or it will cause the inside temp of the psu to increase leading to shorter lifetime
