Well I forgot to backup my savegame folder for stalker when I formatted and reinstalled VIsta....can anyone help me out? The last part I remember was when you leave the bar and go to the gang's camp, where you have to assassinate that sniper on the tower, then blow the wall and invade their camp.
I'd REALLY appreciate it, as I don't want to have to go that far through the game again.
Thanks ahead of time

There are sites that have save games, but I can't seem to find STALKER games because the geniuses have so many incompatible versions.....I found one in German, but it won't work with my worldwide copy.....bah!

Alternatively you could use Trainers to get through the game quicker, and then turn them off at point of interest.

i may end up doing that, but I'm way past the point where you meet the face-tentacle guy in the dark (underground)
Well.....I guess I'm going back over it again......unless someone has a game.....

Go on those four forums I just linked. It really can't be that hard. Four sites filled with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. freaks. You'll find saved games there.

I have a worldwide copy, and I have a save right before that Duty mission where you go and blow up the fence at the Army Warehouse.
The problem is, that there is a glitch there in the save file, in which you complete almost any mission after that point, and you automatically get a terrible reputation:(
I hadn't joined any faction yet, and didn't through the rest of my first play through, and it was on the 2nd highest difficulty since I had originally heard of everyone having a difficult time with the game (I should of gone with the highest then).

It is to be noted that I tend to save to a different file every so often, so the chances of me having a save file before a major event are very likely, if any other points of the game are needed by anyone else.

I had a lot of bugs around that particular point in the game, and there are plenty of save files around there, just because of the trouble shooting.

Hey man it looks like it's working fine. I went and killed all of the blood suckers in the village, and now I'm killing all the DUty members in the their camp.....MAN I forgot how buggy the AI is in this game.
I had to save my game after I took the task, and the rest of the Freedom group is supposed to follow you to battle....except they start aiming their guns at the walls and staying in the camp (except for ~3 guys), so I have to take on the whole camp by myself
EDIT:
GAH I just killed all of the Duty camp by myself and it has the mission waypoint set on a dead body.....WTF. I guess the AI is messed up because the wall wasn't blown before entering the camp......I don't know if you have to do that or not. When I first played through we attacked the Freedom camp by blowing the wall, but I guess your save game sided me with the Freedom camp...
Max (he gives you the mission) is just standing against that wall, asking to have a little chat.....then when you speak with him he says we'll talk after killing the Duty group.....
EDIT:
I just went back and played through the bloodsucker mission, and everything went okay with the camp invasion. Apparently it's not a good idea to save a game in the middle of an AI intensive mission....or it will bug out and you'll get stuck.

Wow... I am reminded all to well just how buggy that game can be at times. Have you had any other problems since then?
Some more words of advice, be careful saving your game at the reactor Sarcophagus. There will be a timer that starts counting down at some point in that mission, and you will get only one chance to save your game until you get out of that map, and load the next. The game will crash if you try to save more than once after the timer starts, and it can only be fixed by advancing to the next map.
I am giving you this advice well in advance of where you are, because that was probably the single nastiest bug I had encountered. Besides a few camp elimination waypoints being set in places where nothing spawns.
Be sure to make saves to different files every now and then, because there are a couple of other game ending bugs to be had further down the road. This game would of been an absolute work of art if it wasn't so damn buggy. I'm not saying the game is bad, or anything short of being great, but god damn was it buggy:(
I can only hope Clear Sky is an improvement.
