Guys I am going to upgrade my motherboard , cpu and gpu. This month it will be my CPU and Motherboard are being changed. Then next month or the month after ( I will have the moneys next month) I will upgrade the GPU.

First of all is it realy worth going with a quad core Intel or should I stick with a dual core? I ask this because theres not many games using the power of the quad yet. Secondly Should I go with a motherboard with P35 chipset or X38 chipset? . As far as I can see theyre just as good as each other but the only main difference is the X38 chipset is tri sli.

a rundown of my current setup

CPU: AMD X2 6000 @ 3.4ghz
Motherboard: Asus Crosshair
Ram: Corsair Dominator DDR2 8500 (1066mhz)
Graphics: Gainward Bliss 8800 GTX (Nvidia)
Powersupplies: 550watt for fans and harddrives , 650 watt for motherboard and graphics
Case: Antec P190
Harddrives: 250GIG SataII and 500 GIG SataII
CPU Cooling: XSPC X2O Pro WaterCooling Kit Info (http://www.aqua-pcs.co.uk/xspc-x2o-pro-watercooling-kit-819-p.asp)

Now I am narrowing down my choices to the following

CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz 232.50 euro (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=338084)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 232.50 euro (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=330169)

Motherboard
ABIT IP35 PRO 148 euro (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335649)
ABIT IX38-QuadGT 210 euro (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=341381)

So what do you guys think?

Umm x38 doesnt support SLI at all, it generally supports dual x16 CROSSFIRE
IE radeon cards

Some of them have dual pcie slots and some have two x16 slots and one x4 slot.

Secondly, if you arnt interested in a crossfire setup, id stick with a p35, as they seem to overclock alot easier than the x38

third, If I were you, id hold on just about a month longer, as the choices for intel are going to be alot better. IE x48 and penryn processors will be mainstream.
