I just received my Silverstone TJ-07 a few days ago. I didn't realize when I ordered that it was such a big case.
However when I started building my new computer, I ran into a snag. I have a EVGA 780i motherboard that requires 8pin 12 volt power on the very top of the case. My Toughpower is on the very bottom and to plug in the PCIE 2.0 is very difficult. The cord is stretched overly tight. It also snakes underneath a video card and over a north bridge fan and a heatpipe.
Has anyone else had problems with the TJ-07 and the psu they chose? Are there any fixes like a case mod or am I going to have to get a new psu? I apologize in advance if this is the wrong subforum to post in. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures.

I converted my TJ07 to an inverted atx style case. Pretty easy to do. You just have to drill out 3 rivets that hold the mobo slide rail, reinstall it a bit higher and to the other side of the case (holes are already there, almost like Silverstone intended to make this mod a feature), and turn your mobo tray over. It's very easy to do and end result is that your 8 pin connector is now inches away from your psu.
Or you can just buy an extension.

Thanks for the reply. I tried looking for an extender yesterday, but couldn't. I think I typed 8 pin 16 volt extension.

Try modding the motherboard tray by cutting a hole out cut above the connector of the motherboard a route the cable behind the motherboard tray.
there's heaps of room behind the motherboard tray and the side panel
If you don't get the picture, look up the Antec P182 design and check out the motherboard tray comes with cutouts and enough space for you to route your cables on the other side of the case making cable management really easy
but check out this site:

My browser and internet is playing up and I can't click on the link :(

Thanks again guys, I bought a extender for now. I am still interested in this mod. Seems fun. I am at work, so I can't see my case, but why does the guide rail need to be higher when inverting the tray?

why does the guide rail need to be higher when inverting the tray?
Because the motherboard tray is not centered on the backplane panel.
When you flip the tray it'll sit higher off the subfloor than it did originally.
This is also why the roof fan assembly will foul the motherboard when you flip it.

I had the same problem with my Galaxy 1000w because I wanted to run all the power cables round the back of the mobo tray. I actually cut and soldered an extra lengths of cable to the 8pin ATX so it could come through a hole I drilled in the mobo try.
Here is my build log which might be of some help.

Thank you for all of your replies. I am not quite sure what the one caveat of the mod is but I think I will understand when I attempt it. Until then the extender will help me out.
