Yeah... The Foxconn BlackOp is already a gem!
Boblemagnifique and I didn't expect a so friendly clocking board. This one is 'only' a ES one, and thus, it was a bit tricky to make it boot properly and to figure out what was working and what wasn't. But then... God! It climbed like mad! :D
Here are 2 benchies among those we managed to do.
M/B:Foxconn BlackOp X48
CPU:Intel Core Extreme QX9650 L739A643
CPU cooling:2 Stage Cascade "Petite Bertha" (~0.6bar evap pressure, i.e. -112C loaded)
Memory:Super Talent PC3-8500F 1024MBx2
VGA:Asus HD3870x2
HDD:Western Digital 80GB
Power Supply:OCZ 1000W
Vcore:1.99V(Bios)
OS:Windows XP Pro 64bits

I need to Vmod the VGAs in order to get better scores. Be sure that I'll.
And here are the pictures... I guess they aren't revealant because the retail board will obviously have a different look. ;)

Why you don't use CPU-z 1.43.. maybe it recognize your X48 like it is... :p not like x38 one :d
Nice Score... and keep pushing it :d

Nice board and nice scores bro.... :toast:
Does the X48 feel better performance/stability wise compared to the P35/X38 ? I dig those bent caps by the cpu socket.... :D

Hehe, those vcore filter caps that are soldered in in parallel by hand look really nice. :D
It's a 8 phase digital PWM, right?

Nice results!
I think this would be my next board.
Can you make a bios screen? It is comparable with the Blitz Extreme?

We do the tests last week, franck cpuz released this weekend (I had not thought to ask before the beta version) ;)

P.S: Keep pushing it and recove thoses places we have lost on HWbot
Here is the motherboard. Nice layout around the socket. It's easy to insulate.

Here is one result by me. I need to get another pair of DDR3, cause I couldn't change any memory settings or the board wouldn't boot
I also have an early sample, so it is no surprise.

3D results are coming later.

Tempting, looks like a well laid out mobo apart from sata placement.
Any idea of release date?

The Diviser 1/4 not functions ;) , strapp 266/333 is better for the performance (not different with 400/450)
I test the Kingston 1800 & my Supertalent 1800 , max 700/720mhz DDR3 , yet a problem with the overclocking DDR3 i think :)
The Gskill don't use D9GTR but D9JNL :( i just test under the Msi of Before , don't boot a 850 c7 a 2.1v i believe :(

I hope, they solve the problems with DDR3. 900Mhz is the minimum i want :D

Memory isn't a 'real' problem I guess. I mean, not for the retail board. :)
Guessing, actual matter is the locked MCHBAR. On-the-fly adjustment cannot be done (even with memset, or a registers editor). It might requires electrical reboot and thus memory timings cannot be tunned under windows.
Additionally, dunno how the bios of this ES board try to set timings, but it usually results in no boot condition (not for all the timings). May be there's a need for an electrical reboot here too. Really dunno ;)
Also, actual bios lacks of SPD reading ability (once more, that's my own guess :D ); it seems to try the same settings for any RAM modules.
Anyway, this looks like a bios issue. Not very surprising for an ES board. :)

Yes for a Mobo ES, its performing very well for the cpu, there are some problems with DDR3 but I think the engineers and shamino will work over before the release to the public :)
I still remember the First P35 ES (P35-DQ6 and DS3) by Gigabyte, max fsb 350 and the memory has hardly 500mhz, it's much worse !!!

Can you tell anything about the release date?
A month oder maybe Q1 2008?!
The socket area looks very promising, clean as we always wish them to be.
Not bad your achieved results.

How much V get the 8800GT?

1.34v idle / 1.38v full :)
Yes or no because the E6700 on water fresh @ 593Mhz max screen (under MSI P35 & DFI P35 blood Iron)
I don't test with Blackops + E6700 under cascade/LN2 but with the DFI Lan Party (max 657Mhz)
Maybe Before test with the E6700 soon :)

HDD:Western Digital 80GB
Power Supply:OCZ 1000W
Vcore:1.99V(Bios)
OS:Windows XP Pro 64bits
Very nice 3D speed for a -112ºC cascade mon ami :D
The layout of the BlackOP motherboard is near perfect and the compoents and Bios options should be great from what I see - dont expect nothing less from a mobo develop by one the best (and for sure nicest) overclocker in the world :yepp:
But scores seems to low for 5.500Mhz :(
Are you sure you are you using Crossfire on the 3DMarks you show ??
Wonder if is a bad PCIe implementation of PCIe 16x slots - or just non tweaked score
What PCIe speed do you use ??
For compare, here my scores with 2x ATI 3870 Stock in CF - in the Maximus Extreme but with with much lower CPU speed - just 5.333Mhz - mini-cascade -85ºC :
2001:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/97596_2001_3870stock.jpg
2005:
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/34371_3DMark2005_3870Stock.jpg
Last but not least (and very important to me) does the BlackOP suffer from coold boot ??
X38's seems a disaster - no way my Maximus Extreme starts if the temp go to lower than -80ºC :(
Merci
Pedro

Frequency Gpu/Mem (843/1269) , frequency DDR3 (680/690 6/6/6/18) are low and XP 64bits (not better i think)
Just lod 3.5 for the test.
And you are the best Optimiser for the 3dmark :)

May Windows XP 64bits explain the low scores - diference of gpu speeds can be more than compensate by the higger CPU speeds
I used Lod 3, so lod can not explain the diference ..
I'm not the best jut the older

Congrats on the great results before and boblemagnifique!
And well done Foxconn and Shamino on making such a nice board. X38 till now has frankly been a big headache for me. Last I heard from CES, those guys have it smokin'.
Pedro, is there some trick to Nature that you're using? With both of us at 5400MHz, my Car High and Lobbies are on par with yours (this was a bad CL), with myself running 13x418, and you running 12x450...

Did 930 Nature with 2 stock 2900XT's (880-990) in the Maximus Extreme with 2 16X PCIe's at 145Mhz..
2 stock 3870's give less Nature even with Maximus Extreme
Dont fully understand why, but Maximus Extreme did a big boost (more than 60fps) on Nature compared to Blitz (8X + 8X), even when compared with other X38's (16X + 16X) the Maximus Extreme seems to get better scores in 2001, specialy in Nature.
To bad the board suffer from coold boot and is single space between the 2 16X PCies
Hope the final version of BlackOP will have a PCIe performance as good as Maximus Extreme - no doubt they can do that with help from Shamino !!
Also hope there is no coold boot on the BlackOP , a few days ago Shamino said to me that he didnt suffer from any coold boot or coold bug problem - that is really great :yepp:
Edit: Gautam - just saw on the ORB you used a P5E64 WS PRO - why dont you give a try on a Maximus Extreme?
Gautam
01-09-2008, 04:42 PM
The V looks a little clumsy, but who can argue with the results? :p:
I think the P5E64 I was using had some problems in CF...(TBH it had a lot of problems )
