Hey, we did some benching this wekkend and managed to this :fact:.
Setup:
Cpu: E6850 Retail (L723A244) – PCB # 2L72141 / 2A2237
Ram: Cellshock Pc8000 Cl4 2x1gb (4-4-4-4)
MB: DFI 2TR P35 (tnx …Victor Wang)
Psu: corsair Hx520
Cooling: DI: with LittleDevil cu/au pot on cpu and a swiftech mcx159-cu on NB / with DI.
Isolation method: Thanks for the inspiration NewBeetle-san (works like a charm).
OS: win xp sp2 (light tweaked)
Our first sub 10 sec 1M after benching 4 e6850s, regarding CPUs, have we tested to ES and 2 retail.
After getting used to the dfi board, are we getting more and more excited about that board and its possibility to overclock, even when the first pci-e is defect(but we are still scared of the ram setting options, - Marc B, we are looking forward to yours words of wisdom).

Bios settings look xls doc.
Marc B, looking forward to run the e6850 with your sticks and LN2.

woot, 5.2G on DI is amazing!
I've tryd many times to go sub10 on DI with E6850 but don't find a chip like this, nice work Oliver
Good job and very nice CPU!
Keep pushing it. :)

Dry ice cooling the NB ? Why is that now ?
Nice results Oliver ! You should definitely test this 6850 under LN2 ... ;)

Thank you, but it was not only my but also THC.
As stated in the post, we have been through 4 e6850s.

Thank you very much, and as stated over, also THC, yes we have not seen any bad advantage when using DI on NB only the other way around ;).

Looking good :)
your piproduct seems quite alright, especially at the giving frequency, I belive connection to the internet and doing some regedit tweaks might hit very close to 50,000 - but awesome ram frequency
Next time, I'll gather some documents along, I cant remember all the regedit tweaks..
I think your tref can be lowered a bit, the rest I cant remember on DDR2 - so is just giving it a try :)

Thank you champ, and sub timmings is auto at this bench, thank you for the tip.
And were also happy about our spi product, when you consider the situation.
And yes, my sticks still can a little.
Looking forward to next time ;).

impressive numbers with dice :toast: about your ram timings. i have the same ram sticks just for benching as you do with the dfi lanparty p35 board i can take them to 600mhz (4-4-4-4) timings with ease but they do seem to need a lot of voltage in order to achieve those clocks.. something like 2.4-2.55 (cant remember witch it was) so i thing you can squeeze few more mhz out of you memory :D just remember to use active cooling on them.

Thank you for your kinds words, and the sticks have been running 600 4-4-4-4, but did not try to run them at it while benching yesterday.
Keep pushing it.

Thank you very much and 1.6v, the max the dfi can give so far, so we need to test this cpu with ln2 and more cpu pll.
Good benching ;).

thanks for reply.
I am PI stable at 550 however 555 is not so great as i get lockups. I use 1.9v PLL.

Your welcome, you can download the xls doc, there is attached, there are all bios options used.
Best Regards.
nice work Oliver, congrats on the sub-10s w/65nm...i still think it is a nice accomplishment. your results are better than my last dry ice session with my E6850 and ALU pot. you are running SPi 1M more than 100MHz higher, any chance of some 32M runs with that same setup?

your hitting a FSB wall at 555FSB on cascade? ouch...is it a FSB wall or your CPU simply can't muster up 5GHz?

Nice scores mate, but in free time please work on your spi ;) . I belive you can manage same score using ~30-50MHz lower cpu freq :)

Thank you champ, and as statet, the runs is on a light tweaked xp, so you are right and sub timmings is also at auto.

It can do 5ghz 3d benchable and pass 32mb dual PI. I shall play more tomorrow but i think its FSB wall as i get lock from 563 to 564 :(
