Great pure MHz speed, but weak performance ratio for a DDR3 memory. This is on par with DDR2 we normaly see.

Re-run & have even more fun :yepp:

Really great, awesome wolfie the one you got there ;)
Your SPi run, could be a lot better if you tighten the timings and play with CR 1 ... How about 7-6-6-15 with even CR2 ... That would make a difference for sure ;)

Memory can't handle 7-6-6 timing, this is the best of this pairs.

At 18.jan. I will receive the one more E8500 that can do 560MHz FSB spi 1m at air. At same day my friend Kakaroth will bring the famous Cell S. 1800 MHz, and we will try to break the 8sec wall :)

Spacemaster,
you don't possibly have a spare 975xbx2 lying around?
I would liek to see if it's possible to run a wolfdale/ yorkfield in one

nice :)

Try'n give the DDR3 sticks 2.4v and see if they'll do 6-5-5, just keep them cold with a fan... They should do at around 2.3v btw...

We will try that, but wen Cell S. arrive.

Like T_M is saying, was i about to say to you that theres spi product 46029,679 is not bad.

dinos22: how's you E8500 testing going along ? :D

Nice clocks man :)

dinos22: how's you E8500 testing going along ? :D

my chips are ok
one chip seems to prime ok at 1.232v on water at 4GHz and the other around 1.3v

both seem to max out at 4.7GHz 1.58v 8M SuperPi and max screens around 4.85-4.88

the better chip is able to bench 3DMARK06 and others at 4550 1.5v only eek and tops out at around 4650 with more vcore....after 4650 more vcore doesn't help

they are both 530MHz dual 32M SuperPi stable but i need MORE :(

my supplier is out of stock now so no more chips even though i was keen on buying a few more :(

tested on Corsair Nautilus 500

Real nice clocks. If i can get 4.5 on my Ultra120A then i'll be real happy :D for a few weeks :)

Fpo-batch ?
I do not save that information, because i lap this babe at same day when we go with LN2. :(

hey Spacemaster

what was the FSB MHz gain from AIR to LN2

This CPU can do Max sp1m stable at 545MHz, with SetFSB max is 555MHz, but no stable at all. I do not try with 6 or 7 multi, but the next week we will try new E8500, and finally we will go with QX9650 after we finish bench with the new E8500.:)

I was thinking exactly the same when i saw the post.
46-46.1k is withing easy reach with cca. 600MHz 5-4-4-x DDR2 memory on that frequencies with some finetuning and oldskool tricks we all know.

Nevertheless this is a great achievement!

I dont understand, just try to persuade the guys that there is some room for improvements even if the chip is capped and you treat my statements as if i was underestimating the achievement... Eh.

With 45nm yes, but is not a bad product, and like Dinos says.

looks like i got a chip to match

just started testing on SS

check out the efficiency on the Gigabyte board with DDR2 RAM ;)

LOL this is THE FIRST BIOS RELEASE and it still works great (except for half multies heheh)

Sweet! I have seen some board doing 45k on DDR2 on the ease, i guess its all about the BIOS. With the same or higher amount of subtiming tuning, mchbar etc, its sometimes not possible to reach 45k PR that some people do it on the ease. 32M shows no significant difference at all - ergo, BIOS optimization :D. DDR3 performance ratio for the price of -2 :D

Don't you spaw that BIOS for nothing! :D

some interesting results

i took screens of the vcore drop and temps during 3DMARK06 CPU tests at 5050Mhz with 1.58v loaded :D

SS cooled -43C on evap load -45C idle

http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/6125/5050mhz3dmark06cputestsam2.png

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/6116/5050mhz3dmark06cputestsdi8.png

absolute best FSB i can get out of SS cooling and 9xmulti

need that half a multi :(

45K efficiency too :D

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3343/8766s1msuperpi5137mhzhh5.png

i reckon with a bit of luck and decent bios from Asus P5E3 DLX along with vcore voltmod i could even attempt to attack the score on SS EEK
