First of all as i am new to the forum its only polite to say hello to you all before i start with the stupid questions, so HELLO.
just put my new rig together Intel Q6600 GO, XFX 680i SLi mobo, got 2gb (2x1gb) of OCZ pc2 8500 (1066MHz) RAM all ok but as the mobo only takes 800MHz ram native i had to set to 1066 in the bios again all good. but for some reason CPU-Z reported it as pc 6400 i asumed this was as the mobo only supported 6400 native. I then decided to go to 4gb so bought another 2gb kit the same as before now heres were it goes all weird. put the other 2 gb in booted and post screen said booting in safe mode and i needed to change fsb. pressed F1 to continue and let it boot. went to CPU-Z this showed slot 1 and 2 as pc 6400 and 3 and 4 as pc 5300 ?
next i left bios in default and put 1 stick of my original 2gb in slot 1 and booted. CPU-Z reported
DDR2 1024 SINGLE
350.1 MHz 2:3/5/5/5/13/20/1T
PC2-6400 (400MHz)
And the same for the second stick.
but for the second 2 i bought it was
DDR2 1024 SINGLE
291.8 MHz 4:5 5/4/4/14/17/1T
PC-5300 (333 MHz)

All sticks have PN OCZ2N1066SR2GK PC2-8500 DUAL CH 5-5-5-15
and all show as OCZ2N1066SR1G in CPU-Z i understand the different pn mean they are sold as a 2 gb kit but why will the second lot not run at 1066 the same as the first batch and why are they reported as different?

Hello,

We revised the SPD, took out the 6400 table, no worries about them showing different speeds.

Clear the CMOS, put the new sticks in the board and set it up like this: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=210944&postcount=1

That will make sure the new pair runs the right speeds.
