Hey. I am building a second system, and the new NF2-400 chipset seems to be pretty decent for the price.I'm picking up an Asus A7N8X-X. I am going to be pairing it with a 2400+ XP.
I read about RichBa5tard's experience with it too, hopefully he just got a bum board.
Some questions:

1)Here, the only kind of RAM available is PC2100 :o , so I'm guessing the 2400+ is 133/266 system bus, right?

2)How good an oc'er is the 2400 with you guys?

3)Will all multipliers be automatically unlocked?

4)Is it worth getting a 2500+ Barton instead of the 2400+ Tbred?

TIA

Bhairav.

1) The 2400+ is a 266MHz FSB chip so yes
2) 2400s havent really been tried, every snapped up 1700+, 1800+, 2100+ or 2500+s for OCin
3) Not all will, I think its 13 downwards that are "unlocked"
4) Yes the Barton 2500 clock sped is slower but the cache will make up for it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just checking up on market availability for the 2500+ Barton.

maybe check the memory for its chip type and then prey it will do ddr333 without poking out. you will need ddr333 for smooth running with the barton.
