Heatpipes don't usually offer very much in way of OC, but they are quite !

I don't know of anything that you can buy and just stick on without moding. IMO the best thing is an all copper 1u rackmount hs and drill some holes in it.

If you're willing to just a LITTLE modding here's something great.
Grab a ALPHA PAL6035 HS/F, use a drill press to drill 2 holes into the bottom of the heatsink aligned with vid card holes. Use threaded machine screws to secure HS/F to vid card. Use caution and go slow. Keep shim in place. Works well for me. My R9700 in my gaming rig runs 430 stock volts all day long.

don't be afraid to mod something.
it's not as hard as you think ;)

w/o mods?!!? How uncouth. :D Here's an idea that helps. I took my old Vantec copper Iceberq, removed the crappy little fan, broke off all the fins (but NOT the tabs with the mounting holes), and lapped the heck out of both sides. Works great as a shim under an aluminum HS, with a better fan. I'm runnin' a non-voltmodded Geforce3@250/550 now, rock solid. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6851975

I have the zalman heat-pipe thing, and I slapped a 60mm fan on it, and I'm at 351/321......it takes the heat away quick.

im with you bro,,, i got one on my 9700pro with a 80 mil fan and it works great as well. may not be the best but it does a better job than it gets credit for. only sucky thing about it is? trying to get sinks to fit on the memory chips with the sink in the way. there's not much room there for tall sinks.

peace...

charlie, do you have anything else supporting the weight of the Alpha? I'd think about it, but those Alphas are pretty hefty. Ya got that right. ;) I actually thought about putting my old AX7 on mine, but the weight issue is just scary.

Those rackmount heatsinks look cool. I wonder if they would be hard to mod and mount onto your gpu?

Brainstorm,
Actually THAT's my exact setup...I've used a 38mm and a 25mm thick 60mm fan. If I did it again, I think i'd do it a bit differently just for peace of mind. I'd drill the holes "straight through" the HS and knock out a couple HS pins. I'd put machine screws from the "fan side" of the HS and use nylon shims, nuts and springs on the "back side" of the vidcard.

Sounds interesting, but I got rid of the delta on my CPU in the first place b/c it was too damn noisy. Not sure I really want to try again, unless I set it up with a rheostat to turn it down most of the time.
