nice!
how much vcore do you need to have 4ghz stable?
what cpu temps do you get at the different ocs you posted about?
did you log the temps?

The new 45nm CPUs are such great clockers.
Compared to these, some Conroes are kindergarten-stuff.

i thought we have a no pron rule?:p:
looks like E8500 will be the way to go for max clock on a budget...
4660 3d stable without subzero is really great.
good job lukas69

Nice chip :toast: it seems most of these chips maxes out at 560-570 though:(

Really nice. I want one to :)
Nice chip, no doubt but i have seen a muuuuch better E8400ES chip.
Let's hope the retail chips will be as good or better and that they will come soon! :)

for temp is problem because coretemp 95.4 dont said good
idle said 11° with 1,35 volt and 32° with prime95 ...is impossible i think and asus said 84° with 1,6 volt
not possible because i'm watercooled
for 4 ghz stable prime95 i need 1,26 - 1,27 volt
if someone can give me coretemp 95.6 i'm happy

lower the CPU multiply to 6x to find max FSB.

just try it with 6 multipler is not better because stop 540 mhz with 7 stop 550 and 8 can arrive 558

Just need to hope 3D08 doesn't have a multi-threaded CPU test, otherwise G0 Q6600's will still be the budget chip of choice. Maybe I'll buy an E8500 for benching 3D01/03/05 and SPi and keep the Q6600 for 3D06/08 and Vantage.

Why does every second post I make end up being the next page of a thread? It makes all my post's just sit there, and seem to relate to nothing.... Damn my luck sucks.
Well at least lukas here is lucky with a good chip. I am looking foward to the full release of all the new Intel CPU's, not so much so I can by one, but so the Q6600 takes another price dive and I can get one of them lol.

Run 3dmark06 next?
Run 3dmark06 next?
How interesting is that?
CPU score still sux with a dualcore, 06 demands a quad. :(
I'd rather see some nice SuperPi benches.

Yeah, I didnt think about that.
lukas69
01-01-2008, 08:05 AM
3d06 is not important with dual i try only 3dmark05 , o3 and 01
with qx9650 i try 06 is CPU score that increase

01-01-2008, 10:07 AM
what temps are you gettin?
lukas69
01-01-2008, 11:54 AM
i Have mortherboard asus p5k3 dlx with bios 0810 and from bios havent 1\2 divisor on cpu but i put auto and know 9,5 multipler
from bios i set 1.35 volt 4250 Mhz and hardware monitor said me 43° idle and 65 full prime95 but in win with coretemp 0.96 said 23- 25° idle and 45 - 46° full. i dont know wath is real temp
i'm watercooled with Fuzion and mp655 and radiatior V3 360 extreme only for cpu
If i try 1,60 volt real hmonitor in bios said me near 82- 84°
...crazy and coretemp in windows said 38 - 42° and 60 - 63 full
if i try 1,65 computer dont start
before e8500 i try e6850 with 1,43 volt 3850 mhz and coretemp said me 34 - 35° in idle and 58 - 60° full prime95 and hardware monitor said 43 - 44° idle and 68- 70 full
i dont know what is real temp but i think coretemp is near real temp because 84° is crazy for watercooling idle
i think bios dont support correct e8500
does it not boot with 1.65? whats up with that, OVP? cant be..
motherboard troubles?
nice clock at low voltage though, 1.35 for 4250 with prime? thats sick.. :)
lukas69
01-01-2008, 10:14 PM
yes with 1,65 volt dont boot
with qx9650 boot at 1,70 but E8500 over 1,62 - 1,63 dont boot because i think mortherboard protection with 85° and over
if i disable temp from bios can enter in windows
this week arrive maximus extreme i try with it
lukas69
01-04-2008, 12:47 PM
test with maximus extreme and 2 ati 3870 stock cooling
Now that's Sweeet dude :)
looks awsome, really! , looks like you could find a sweetspot at 4.5ish around 1.50? MAN i want one to play with, im like a child again when i buy computer parts!
Hopefully you'r ES are not mega cherry picked! and we will see this kind of results with retail too..

This is always a worry. ES always preform well.
But thats still a wicked fast CPU, and nice score to.

Hi,
for max FSB try a Gigabyte P35 Board. I tested my E8500 on 3 Asus P35 / X38 Boards
and all do max. 550-555FSB, on Gigabyte P35-DQ6 did it 580FSB!
But nice results, my E8500 is Week L738 and can do max 5016Mhz for a valid, 4.84Ghz
SuperPi 1M and 4.75Ghz 32M SuperPi 32M with watercooling and max 1.65v vcore:)
omg, sooon come! this will be the toy of the year :)
