Hi all :)
Yesterday I recieved my new :slobber: Infineon / Infineon Made In USA PC2700 ramsticks ;) They're pretested, doin' 245 CAS 2.0 - 2 - 2 - 5 on a P4 system :slobber:
Only problem is: My Abit NF7-s maxes out at 225 Mhz FSB :( I was thinking, maybe another bios would help me get some more Mhz outta that ;) ?
Or should I start with the VDD pencil mod? Naah, will do that after I tried new biosses
Current bios is n° 16 :)

I didn't, why should I? It runs fine @ 225 ;) I really do think it's the boerd holding me back  You know, when you have that feeling ... ;)

its much harder to get your ram to run that high on a amd system than it is on a intel system... maybe your ram is the problem seeing how it is only 2700. also, def do the L12 mod that works wonders if it is a 1700+

It's a Barton 2500+, but i'm 99% sure the ram does 245 Mhz in Dual Channel, so that ain't the problem
If your cpu is a 166 fsb then you shouldn't have to do l12 mod. It's probably the board if you know it's not the ram or cpu.. do vdd mod.

I WILL do that vdd pencil mod, but that ain't my Q, I was asking what bios is doin best on high FSB'es
I do best with 1.4 and most people seem to also.. or 1.4beta

I have a 1700+
Would I benifit from doing the mod (link?) Currently cant get over 210x11 stable. That's using 1.65v vcore (actual) (tried upto 1.85vcore), 1.7vdd, 2.8v vdimm (actual) (tried all the way up to 3.00vdimm but cant get any higher)
Yes doing the L12 mod ( when running a 2.0 NF7/S) will give you more headroom fsb wise when paired with a 266 chip ( like your 1700+).
I had to use the 10 bios to be able to use CPU interface on all multi's though.
So I guess you could say I use the 10 bios.........:D

Do a vdd mod. I needed a vdd mod to break 227, and from what I've read, 220~230 range is usually where the nf7-s 2.0 needs a kick in the vdd pants.

16 is the best bios on my nf7-s 2.0 as well, i only get 215dc with 1.7vdd though... but thats without any mods whatsoever and just a tiny drop of termal grease on the nb.
